Eight problems related to steering wheel have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Steering wheel would momentarily lock up when making turns. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
Failure disabled airbag and horn. Very dangerous!! can't blow horn to avoid accident.
Due to steering column clock spring failure all the dash board functions horn, cruise control and air bag light inoperative. Yh.
The steering wheel malfunctioned, causing steering wheel to move freely, and vehicle not turning in either direction, which almost resulted in an accident. Dealer replaced clock springs and a gear power.
Abs: when applied brake pedal goes to floor, causing extended stopping distance, nearly caused an accident, no warning; also, steering wheel grinds, could crack, causing loss of steering control.
Consumer unable to see the turn signal, odometer, and high beam. Because the steering wheel blocks his view.
During vehicle operation a noise was coming from the center of the steering wheel where the air bag is located, as a result the consumer was told by spokane of Chrysler Plymouth inc. That the steering wheel, needed to be replaced on 6-12-96.
Steering cracks when turning, also stiff at times.
