Eight problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While backing out of a parking space with a foot on the brakes vehicle started to accelerate in reverse. Was brought to a halt after front passenger'side struck a tree. Consumer's four year old child's head hit rear door window, cracking the window in the process. Consumer suffered back injuries. Seat belts were worn but none of the air bags in vehicle deployed.
The horn quit working, cruise contron quit working, air bag light remained lit after starting.
This assembly disables the airbag system. It also disables the criuse control and horn systems.
The airbag light stays on, the crusie control does not work, the horn does not work.
Governor valve malfuctioned, causing vehicle to stay in high gear, but would not change gears. Vehicle was inspected by independent repair shop. Consumer was informed that valve needed to be replaced. Can NHTSA help or provide information on this matter.
When using the speed control it failed to disengage. The vehicle accelerated at high speed.

Air bag light flickered then stayed on, cruise intermittent, no horn.
