43 problems related to windshield wiper/washer have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

36 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

This vehicle has had problems ever since it was new. I have had major components replaced and it isnt even paid for yet. The alternator was replaced when it had less than 4,000 miles on it. The wipers still come on by themselves inexplicably - sometimes the key is not even in the ignition! they still have not remedied that problem. The major complaint I have is the engine. I truly believe this is a dangerous vehicle. I had the oil galley plug recall done (supposedly) and in September I had to have a head gasket job done on this van. In the recall it states, and I quote "in certain vehicles, the engine cylinder head oil galley plug does not seal properly and engine cylinder head oil is not adequately retained. Well, they tried to tell me the two repairs were unrelated. I disagree. If my recall was done properly, then why do my records indicate I complained of oil leaks after that recall was done? and if oil was leaking from the oil galley plug, wouldnt that cause breakdown of the head gasket over time? it would. Now the latest: yesterday, February 26, 2000, the engine began sputtering and the check engine light came on (I had 1/2 tank of gas). I had to have it towed, once again, to have it worked on. This van has been in the shop more than it has been on the road. I could not, in good conscience, ever sell it to someone else. So now I feel like I am stuck with a piece of garbage. I would like reimbursement for the expense of repairs, plus what it has cost me in renting a vehicle to drive while they repaired this lemon.

37 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

Windshield wipers would go on/off by themselves. This caused a hazardous problem for driver. Vehicle been to dealership for windshield wiper repairs. Since repairs done on wipers, the signal switch failed to work properly.

38 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

The consumer has experienced the following problems. Transmission failure, fuel rail line and tank. Clockspring, head gasket, and the wipers will come on when not in use. Scc ph.

39 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

Windshield wipers come on without application, and sometimes cut off during performance. Wipers are very sporaiically working. Dealer has seen vehicle 3 times, and problem still exists. Brake shoes and wheel cylinder makes noise. Power window switch failed. Gas tank leaks due to defective sending unit.

40 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

Windshield wiper turns on by itself while driving. This is a significant distraction while driving. I am concerned of the potential for accident if we are startled by the wiper starting while in rush hour or other 'tricky' driving situations.

41 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

When turning steering wheel to turn a corner, windshield wiper will turn on, and cannot turn off, even with the switch in off position. Dealer cannot determine cause.

42 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

Transmission stuck in first gear, also abs failure, causing brakes to shake, engine would lose power while accelerating onto freeway; front windshield wipers would come on on their 0wn.

43 Windshield Wiper/washer problem

Windshield wipers turn on by themselves especially after turns; wipers sometimes don't turn on; dealer replaced wiper/turn signal but problem still exists.
