Four problems related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was not started. However, gear lever will move on its own. Gears move without placing foot on the brake. Consumer adds, there is a problem w/airbag, because the light is constantly on which prohibits the horn from working. (she concerned because she has small children).
Vehicle was parked with engine running, emergency brake not applied. Consumer left vehicle. Vehicle suddenly went backward, hitting another vehicle. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time.
Transmission would shift into gear without being turned on, and had rolled backwards.
After putting vehicle into park, while vehicle was turned off, vehicle jumped out of park into reverse, causing it to hit another vehicle.
