Noises During Shifting problems of the 1997 Plymouth Voyager

Two problems related to noises during shifting have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 05/01/1999

When driving at 35 to 40 mph the there is a loud clucking noise, and the vehicle shifts very hard.

2 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 12/01/1998

At 35 mph & above, the transmission emits a whistle or whine. The dealer said its the ring & pinon gears making the noise but all cars do it. If you take your foot off the gas or shift into neutral at 35 mph the noise stops. Its been getting worse in the last month.
