Three problems related to steering rack and pinion have been reported for the 1998 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving 40 mph driving pin broke off, causing loss of control.
When driving at low speeds and brakes are applied,vehicles' steering wheel will tighten, making it difficult to steer. This almost caused several accidents. The dealership have replaced the rack and pinion 3 times and the power steering pump once, but problem still exits.
Intermittently steering becomes difficult when making a turn. Dealer has inspected vehicle and will replace rack and pinion.
