Two problems related to transmission noise have been reported for the 1999 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at any speed and when the brakes were depressed there was a clanking noise. Consumer examined the vehicle, and found that he noise was evident when braking. Consumer claimed that the noise was coming from the transmission. A pin in the transmission fell out of place and was hitting the inside of the transmission housing.
The transmissions Dodge is producing will suddenly kick out of gear without warning(no noise, vibration, etc. . . ). This I s exactly what happenned in my case. Traveling in the left lane of the interstate@ 70mph transmission suddenly began to coast greatly reducing my speed. I then had to try to cross traffic to get to the emergency lane. That is when my family has to walk up the interstate to find a tow truck. Chrysler has over 10 years of trans. Trouble and they dont seem to be doing anything about it.
