Integrated Child Seat Belt Problems of Plymouth Voyager

To whom it may concern my name is katie olson I drive a 1997 Plymouth Voyager van with the built in car seats. That is what sold me the van I thought they would be safer for my children. Last week I took my kids to the park and I went to release the belt and it retracted to my two year old daughters neck. I could not get it off of here I had to cut it off after a half hour of trying to loosen it. It was so tight I couldn't put my finger between her throat and the belt. Child safety seat locked while child was attached in seat.

Lifted the seat belt of the intergrated css to get the child out and the seat belt fell down on the child and pinned the child to the intergrated css, had to take the vehicle to a dealer to release the child.

Failure on the built in css, the css shoulder belt will not retract, causing the child to be traped in the seat.

Integrated child safety seat will not release to get the child out, retractor harness / straps failed.

Built-in child safety seat tends not to release occupant when it is being released, also intermittent stalling.

Integrated child safety seat tightened up instead of loosening up, continued to retract, owner had to cut shoulder restraint to remove child; dealer replaced entire seat; problem occurred with new seat, again, harness was cut to remove child.

Child safety seat locked up, had to cut the straps to remove child.

Failure on the built-in css, the seat belt locked up on the child, causing the child to be trapped in the css. Maunfacturer has been contacted on numerous occasions, and they still have been unable to provide a replacement.

Straps lock and will not release in built-in child seat, had to cut the straps to get child out.

Overhead seat belt harness breast plate rest on stomach of occupant leaving too much room between breast plate and shoulders; occupants can climb out. Tt.

Built in child safety seat retractor does not roll back, allow the child to get out, dealer replaced one of the built in css. Tt.

Integreted child seat restraints retracted while the child was in the seat. Manufacturer will be notified.

#ea97003, the straps on the integral part of the child safety seat lock up real tight, making removal of the child very difficult. This has happened about (4) or (5) times on seat by sliding door, about (3) times on the other seat, since purchase of vehicle in November of 1995. Vehicle not seen by dealer.

Owner received recall notice, contacted dealer and was told they had to order parts. Parts are still unavailable. Recall#96v136000.

On three occasions consumer tried to get child out of the intergated car seat, wouldn't release, had to cut child out, there is a recall #95i004000.

Child intergrated seat would not pull down. Owner notified Chrysler on this matter, where they sent owner a video tape on how to use seat, but problem remains.
