5 Structure problem of the 1996 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 11/04/2004

I'm wondering if you have ever heard of the following problem . . . We own a 1996 Plymouth Voyager minivan. The acoustics inside are terrible, you can't even hear someone talking to you from the back seat. But what is more problematic is that my ears will hurt with even the slightest opening of the windows, like there is some kind of pressure created inside when the windows are open. We have tried opening the back windows but that doesn't help. Have you ever heard of anything like this? we've taken two long trips cross country (with the windows closed) and I can't hear for several days after the trip. There's some kind of reverberation going on. Like I'm inside a pressure cooker. It's killing my ears. Thanks for any help. Larry berg boca raton, FL.

6 Structure problem of the 1998 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 05/18/2004

While having some work done on our 1998 Plymouth Voyager, the mechanic noticed that the area at the top of the strut and spring connected under the hood has both corrosion and perferation. It covers about one-third of the strut tower. I called a dealer and was told that this rust-through was not covered under their warrenty. I was also told that this condition is potentially dangeropus if the strut and spring rust completely through. The rest of the body is rust free. I also found that in 2002 a service bulletin 23-044-02 dated October 14, 2002 covered this problem. Since this is a major safety and cost issue for my family, I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get chrisler to fix the problem?.

1. The rear hatch leaked upon delivery. Three attempts were made to put some king of sealant on the exterior to prevent leakage. Some water damage to interior was never fixed. 2. Air bag light on due to clock spring failure. Waited for almost two years for Chrysler to issue recall while problem was being investigated by NHTSA. 3. Transmission failure at 115,800km. Estimated $1,800 to repair at transmission shop.
