Failure Date: 05/30/2009

Four tires tread separation all same tread wear douglas tire 215/70r14 I have photos available of today's tire and will photograph the remaining two serial numbers and check for the fourth at the wal mart that replaced it. Property damage was negligible but I was prepared for the tire failure I rotated them to the rear due to the belt wearing through the center of the tread.

4 Tire problem of the 2000 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 07/15/2003

We purchased the vehicle because it only had 21,486 at three years old and they called it certified. When the air conditioning went out they refused to even reimburse us part of it because we did not have the extended warranty. We have the powertrain a this point until 70,000 miles. We have had engine knocking, which our mechanic added an additive to and seemed to go away but now at the end of August seems to be returning. The tires were terrible at what seemed to us to be low mileage. We had sensors that went and caused the transmission to downwshift so our mechanic repaired. We have submitted that one bill to Chrysler because it turns out it was a powertrain issue on that. We have not received reimbursement yet. When the brakes went metal to metal totally without warning on August 23 we began to wonder if our odometer had been turned back before we bought it but are now thinking it is just a very cheap, shoddy vechicle and we are so sorry we have bought it and wasted this much money on it. We went back to the dealer, suncoast Chrysler Plymouth when the air went out and they refused to do anything. We went back again to the general manager at the end of August trying to find a way to get out of this and get our money back or at the very least help with the extremely expensive brake repair and they said there is nothing they can do. The engine does not sound good now so we are expecting anything to happen next.

8 Tire problem of the 1997 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 10/20/2000

Shimmy at low speed. Dealer dignosed tread / belt separation. Michelin dealer replaced tires with symmetry tires explaining old series no longer available, but symmetry was same tire with same tread pattern. Dealer admitted that they've been having trouble with the xw4 tires, but refused to provide any information. I was sold new tires at reduced cost, but paperwork doesn't list tread separation as the reason. Co-worker had same problem with michelin tires on pickup truck. Is michelin having firestone problems? (dot number: hdt2 472x tiresize: p215/65r15).

9 Tire problem of the 2000 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 10/01/2000

Pronounced tire bounce between 45-50 mph. Took to dealer on Friday, 5 October. They diagnosed 3 tires out of round. Took vehicle to goodyear auto service center (37 e. Nine mile rd. , pensacola, FL. 32514, ph. 850-479-2007) on Monday, oct 9, goodyear diagnosed 1 tire (rf) out of round and 3 aluminum rims (lf, lr, & rr) as being warped. Goodyear ordered 3 tires and Chrysler dealer ordered 3 new rims from atlanta. Called both the morning of October 11 and they had rims and tires. Picked up the rims at Chrysler Plymouth dealer and took them over to goodyear for installation. Goodyear mounted their three new tires on the three new rims supplied by the Chrysler dealer and replace them on the lf, rr, and lr. Still have a the same noticable bounce. My major concern is the fact that I started vacation on Monday, October 9th and our plan was to head for a visit to michigan. It snowed last weekend in michigan, and although I am originally from michigan and drove on their winter roads for 33 years, I am concerned about the loss of control on slippery roads due to the wheel bounce. The original tires, ser #'s b276272gcw79mmsc, b276261gcw79mmsc, and b301163gcw79mmsc are at the goodyear store, and the original rims were returned to the chrysley/Plymouth dealer. I do not know which dealer or if the rims or wheels are at fault. I did not know where else to turn. Will call Chrysler in detroit tomorrow to see if I can meet with the factory rep the next time he is in town. Hope this info may help others.
