Body control module has failed--park circuit failing--causes windshield wipers not to function(description given today-Jan. 19. On Jan. 18, service dept could not locate problem. When at dealership to pick up vehicle, service dept stated vehicle had been repaired; no problem. Before leaving premises, windshield wipers were not functioning. I had paid $509. 65. Which included the cost of the repair of the windshield wipers. It was reported that the problem was a multi-function switch which was supposed to have corrected the problem. Now, I am being charged $385 for a body control module that must be ordered---more inconvenience for me as well as recharging me for a problem that was supposed to be corrected.

Failure Date: 08/20/2004

While driving 30 mph in inclement weather windshield wipers failed. This caused poor visibility. However, consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Consumer will contact the dealer in the near future.

3 Windshield Wiper/washer Motor problem of the 1996 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 06/14/2004

Consumer stated that windshield wipers and blades were repaired twice and each time they broke again. The windshield wipers malfunctioned while driving or they just started while driving. Consumer stopped them by cutting the vehicle off. The dealer wanted to charge the consumer this time for repairs. But the consumer insisted that it was a manufacturing defect and had already replaced the windshield wiper motor.

The windshield wipers come on intermittently while driving and while making right turns, the dealer replaced part and tightened loose ground eyelet. Nlm.

Windshield wiper problem has been fixed at least 2 times by dealer. Problems continue on an intermittent basis. We never know when they will activate by themselves. Park in middle of windshield. Recently problem developed on an intermittent basis. Headlights will not always turn on. Also dashboard displays goes blank on intermittent basis.

Even though van has been serviced under recall # 99v216000 twice on 2/21/00 & 2/25/00, there is still a strong odor of gas fumes inside van when fuel is put into tank. Odor lasts for about 1/2 hour. Dealer stated that during fueling, gas fumes get under the vehicle which is normal. The windshield wipers come on when turn signals are turned on and sometimes while driving over bumps, the windshield is scratched because of this, this problem has been taken to the dealer 4 times.
