Power Train Problems of Porsche 911

Cruising on the highway and a transmission error comes up saying that there's no reverse gear. Got off the highway and even gears aren't engaring, no 2,4,6 gears. 1,3,5,7 gears are engaging. Turned off and parked the car for about an hour. Turned it on car drove fine but start/stop wasn't available and sport modes are not available. Had the car diagnosed at the dealer and the same symptoms and codes are exactly as sb-10054511-7606. The 2012 model year needs to be included.

I have a nearly brand new 2022 Porsche 911 gts with around 3000 miles on it. Around 3am on 4/16/23, I was driving on highway and experienced serious engine failure. Put me and other drivers driving on the highway in a life threatening situation. I or anyone who is driving could be killed while my car stopped on highway and later on a local road. It gave me insomia, paranoidism, trauma etc. In details, when the engine first failed, the speed was decreasing, I stepped on gas but there is no response from the car, the speed still decelerated until I made my way to the shoulder of highway. It finally completely stopped, I failed to start engine for few time and in the mean time the car had burning smell. I waited for 5-10 mins, then tried to restart the engine, car was started but it felt very weak and was really hard to control and steer. I stepped on gas but it's not accelerating. The engine kept failing and lights went out, I can’s see the road clearly and can't really steer the car. For my own and other people's safety I had to drive the car to the exsit! the car bumped into sidewalk curb, after multiple times of restarting the car until I made to the nearest highway exist. Whenever I stopped the car, the engine would turn off, then at last, I reached to a signal light and that's when the car had completely stopped and I can’t start the engine after trying for many times. Around 3:30am I called Porsche road assistance, they said they would tow the car in 60-90 mins. After 60 mins I called the road assistance again to follow up they said can’t find towing company and asked me to call my insurance instead. At that time it's almost 5am I was very frustrated, exhausted and cold didn’t know what to do. I had to have my friend picked me up and left the car on the road. Police officer had the car towed and I sent the car to riverside dealership. Called Porsche and filed claim requested for buy back last week, no update as of now, need your help on this. Thank you!.

Complete engine failure while driving 2019 gt3rs with less than 6ki miles. While driving on a hill and accelerating, received low engine pressure warning and engine lost power. Porsche cars north America replaced entire motor.

My 2020 Porsche 911 was two days old when I get a "ignition lock error-service required". The next day the tachometer stopped working. After the dealer fixed the problem, I drove home and park the car for two days. The next day the car would not start. I was told by the dealer this car has many problems with it's computer which makes the car unsafe because lots of its functions are computer controlled. I also just received a recall no. 19v-878.

I find myself having to having to add oil every two fill ups. From 500 hundred to 1000 miles. This rate of oil consumption very excessive and if I would have been advised at the time of purchase I would have not bought the car. The dealer and Porsche USA says this is normal. But I have another Porsche that doesn't use oil. They have to add oil three times since I bought the car. Unacceptable!.

Coolant fitting on engine blew off on the freeway, dumping all the coolant and causing a major traffic slowdown. Car was able to be repaired by bonding (jb weld) in the fitting into the engine block. No issues since. Also, the left front radiator leaked and needed to be replaced.

Flywheel broke three times: 1st replacement: the car was 20 months old, 16,515 miles. 2nd replacement: the car was 37 months old and had 37, 355 miles (21,000 miles later). 3rd replacement: the car was 49 months old and had 49,624 miles (12,000 later).

The event happened in 2008. Purchased Porsche gt 3 from Porsche dealer in 2006. Accelerating onto a limited access highway from an entrance ramp the car made a violent fishtail movement in a counterclocwise direction causing a 180 deg. Spin. I tried to correct but no response and then applied brakes heavely but car continued its movement eventually hitting a concrete barrier in the right rear. The car had to be towed and eventually totaled by the insurance company. At the impact site I did notice fluid on the road and also back up the road. Since my wife was injured and needed to be taken to the hospital, I was more focused on tending to her but as I look back and also reading about the collant problems this car is having I would not be surprised if this car had a discharge of cooling fluid. As a side note, I do hold a competition drivers license with the scca and have competed for over 30 years and have owned Porsches for over 40 years. I presently own another 2004 gt 3 and very concerned about this problem. ## VIN failed ##.
