I was driving my car and at a stop sign I started accelerating when the light turned green - I must have been going 45 mph after the light and all of a sudden my car went into hyper acceleration speeding up to 80 mph, I was pumping my brakes and the car was still raging to accelerate. I almost ran into a semi truck in front of me becuase I could not stop my car from accelerating, my foot was on the brake padel not the accelerator and it would slow down but as soon as I take the foot off of the brake - it would go into a rage accelration again, my car also gave wba restricted warnings while accelerating. I was finally about 2 miles of stoping and accelerating pull into a sholder with my brakes slammed, and parking brake pulled, the car finally came to a stop. I was also being followed by other cars and could have caused them to run into me as I tried to stop the car.

The rotary volume control knob on the center console of my 2024 Porsche Cayenne coupe detached during normal, routine interior cleaning while the vehicle was stationary. The knob lifted off the control shaft with minimal contact from a standard handheld vacuum nozzle. This indicates that the retention mechanism of the control knob is insufficient and may represent a manufacturing or design defect. A loose or detachable interior control is a safety concern because it distracts the driver from the road when attempting to adjust audio, alerts, or climate menu functions. The control knob is part of an interface that the driver must use while driving, and if it unexpectedly detaches or becomes loose, it can impair the ability to safely manage vehicle settings. The issue was reported to the Porsche dealership and Porsche cars north America. Both declined warranty coverage and classified the problem as “customer damage,” despite the failure occurring under normal usage conditions and without misuse. A properly secured interior control knob should not detach during light interior cleaning, and this may indicate a broader quality-control issue affecting similar vehicles. There were no warning lights prior to the failure. The problem is reproducible because the knob no longer attaches securely to the shaft. I am reporting this to NHTSA because an interior control that detaches under normal use may distract drivers, impair safe operation of infotainment and climate systems, and may indicate a defect in the design or construction of the control assembly.

The factory leather dashboard has detached/ungluded in places both on the driver and passenger side. Now the dashboard cover in the passenger area does not properly line up and has bubbled up on top of the passenger air bag door. There is a high possibility that this defect will prevent the passenger air bag from properly functioning or not function at all during an accident. Several Cayenne owners have reported this problem to Porsche USA however they will only replace at the owner's request and owners expense which is in the thousands of dollars. Porsche USA said that this is not a recall item therefore they will not pay for the repair.

Porsche dashboard leather shrunk and staples pulled out, I was told that if the vehicle was in an accident the air bags might not deploy properly . The Porsche dealer looked at it and recommended replacing it . This is a very common issue .
The leather dashboard has shrunk to the point where the the Porsche dealer recommend replaceing it. This appears to be an issue serious enough to prevent the airbag from deploying correctly if in an accident. This appears to be a common issue.
Dashboard leather is separating and was told this could affect the airbag deployment in the case of an accident. Porsche dealership is asking 10k outside of warranty to replace the dash. If it was just cosmetic I could deal with it, but now that it is a safety concern for my passenger I feel forced to overspend. Even a reduced amount would help but a whole dash replacement sounds excessive to make sure the leather is not obstructing the airbag.

The dashboard has a fitted leather coating covering the airbag. . . The leather and its surrounding seals has melted. . Almost entirely. . And it is rippled and uneven all around. . . This is widespread for these models and may cause problems with the airbag in the dash. . . The airbag has to be able to deploy without any problems. . The dash should be fixed so it is safe.
Porsche dashboard leather has shrunk and now doesn’t properly cover airbag which is a major safety hazard. Porsche said they would not cover cost to replace which they quoted $9k. There are tons of reports of this happening to other Porsche Cayenne owners and need to be addressed via recall.
Dashboard leather has shrunk and removed staples. Dashboard leather is laying on top of airbag and may act as a deterrent to the airbag function. Was informed that the airbag may not deploy correctly. Cost to repair is >$10k due to a common material defect.

The a/c in this 5 year old vehicle no longer works. There are no warning lights or anything to suggest the a/c is no longer functioning, other than turning it on to see if it works. The weather would need to be warm enough to test it. The dealer said it is due to the evaporator core, and to replace it would cost $8,000. 00. Upon search, many others have had this same malfunction. Audi uses the same part in their vehicles and in 2021, they revised their new car warranty to include the a/c evaporator for 10 years/100k miles. Porsche should also commit to this action as they are using the exact same faulty part and these vehicles cost even more than the Audi’s.
Leather dashboard cover is separating from the dashboard with staples being pulled up. I am concerned the airbag in the dash may deploy improperly and/or dangerously.
Leather of the dashboard began to shrink on both driver and passenger sides. The shrunk leather exposed metal staples used to keep it in place and disfigured the passenger airbag compartment. An independent mechanic suggested that, in case of an accident, an airbag may not deploy correctly and the exposed staples may become a hazard. This appears to be a common problem of Porsche owners with leather dashboards.
The dashboard leather has shrunk and the staples are beginning to pull out. I have read that this may keep the dashboard airbag from property deploying in the case of an accident. This is a common issue and the dealers are recommending replacement.

Porsche dashboard leather shrunk and staples pulled out. I was told that if the vehicle was in an accident the airbag might not deploy correctly. The Porsche dealer looked at it and recommended replacing it. This is a very common issue on Porsche Cayennes.
The leather on my Porsche Cayenne dashboard has shrunk and is pulling away from the front of the dashboard. My mechanic tells me that this is a possible safety issue because if the vehicle is in an accident, the front passenger airbag may not deploy correctly and recommends replacing (expensive). In checking various Porsche online forums, this appears to be a common issue among owners with the more expensive leather dashboards.

Porsche dash material is separating from the substrate of the structure. This material is directly between the airbag and the now loose material on the surface of the dash (leather). Porsche will not repair this and recommends a replacement at an estimated $10,000 usd. There is a significant risk to safety as the now loose upper material will interfere with the deployment of the airbag on the passenger side, adding potential harm and injury to a passenger inside the vehicle.
Passenger side dash board leather cover has pulled away from dash - thus creating a safety issue with the airbag. Porsche has examined the damage and recommended a repair but will not cover the cost - but did advise that in the event of a accident - they do see a potential problem with the passenger side air bag deploying safely (or not at all). There should be a recall on this by Porsche as it's a safetly issue.

The original Porsche leather upper dashboard has shrunk, causing exposed staples, and rippling of the leather , including rippling and bunching of the leather that is covering the passenger dash airbag assembly. I have been informed that in the event of an accident causing airbags to deploy, the passenger airbag would likely not deploy correctly, and further injury could also occur because of exposed staples and hardware that should not be exposed. My Porsche dealer and independent dealer have both advised replacement of dash (for a very large sum of money). I have also taken the vehicle to multiple upholstery shops and all have declined to fix the problem solely due to the airbag risk/liability. This is very common issue for late model Porsche full leather option dashes, and specifically Cayenne models seem to be heavily affected. At this point, I am worried about the safety of my vehicle, and continue usage, and the dealer price to fix out of pocket is prohibitive (the part itself from the Porsche dealer is >$6000, not including significant labor charges to remove and replace the full dash). Cayenne owners have been quoted over $10,000 to fix the issue from dealers. Thank you for your time.

Porsche leather dashboard shrunk and staples pulled out. I was told by a Porsche service technician that if the vehicle was in an accident, the air bag might not deploy correctly. The Porsche dealer diagnosed it and recommended replacing it. This is a very common issue.
The Porsche Cayenne that equipped with leather dashboard are peeling off over the time. If the vehicle in an accident, the airbag on the passenger side dashboard may not deploy correctly. I am finding many Cayenne owners are having this issue. I really hope ntsb can issue a recall.

The optional leather dashboard is peeling away from the base of the windshield. The cutout in the leather that aligns with the passenger airbag is now out of alignment and there is concern if the airbag will deploy properly in an accident.

Remote lock using a phone app locks the door while the trunk is open. This is considered a health and safety concern as individuals assume the vehicle is locked and secured while the vehicle is exposed to theft, misuse, or even the safety of passenger.
Porsche dashboard leather shrunk and staples pulled out. I was told that if the vehicle was in an accident the airbag might not deploy correctly. The Porsche dealer looked at it and recommended replacing it. This is a very common issue.
Factory installed spare tire failed to inflate and attach to wheel rim when needed to replace a flat tire. None of the service technicians with aaa, discount tire or Porsche dealerships were able to do so. There were no visible defects on or in the spare. The tire had been used possibly only once before this incident. Porsche refused to replace it and I was forced to buy a new one because it was out of warranty.

Car was purchased new 063023. Prior to purchase dealer told up car is due for a software update. At purchase, we got a piece of paper stating car was due for " a comprehensive " software update and we could delay taking delivery. We decided to take delivery. But, what we were not told then was that Porsche group, Porsche na, under the direction of their owners, Volkswagen group - germany, was not providing owners with owners manuals for their new 2024 cars that would be getting the updates. Our paper manual references "see digital' or "digital" more than 300 times. Through either the car pcm or an app or online, owners are suppose to be able to get digital content to show how to operate the car. So far, we have not been given access to our "digital" manual. We've opened 2 cases with Porsche na, no's 8000069845 and 44, made numerous calls to c/s for Porsche who directs us back to the dealer , who is unable to find any digital content and says that Porsche has not installed it in the car and none is available. Porsche tech support is unable to locate the content in the car, online or in the app. We are requesting all applicable owners manual info. So that we can safely operate our new car. Porsche na refuses to give us access to the 'digital' manual for our car. Subsequently I was given documentation which showed that the dealer was specifically directed to not make available to purchasers of new cars the digital manual. I fail to see how a manufacturer is allowed to sell cars w/o providing operator manuals? in each of the uploaded . Jpeg files there is suppose to be a manual icon. There are none. . . And also shows app not available in our area.
My car had a problem in the hybrid part, before doing the diagnosis they said 3 different problems, when they gave me the diagnosis they said they didn't know what it was but that to begin with “it could be “ the components $13,000 to fix. But my car is under the 8 years or 100,000mls hybrid system warranty, so I contacted porshe headquarters and they said the car was out of warranty. So I called porche in fremont (where they have mentioned the warranty on their website) and 3 people confirmed that the car is under warranty by VIN n. I called headquarters again and they said they needed this guarantee in writing. So when I called fremont again 3 weeks later they said the car is not under warranty, meaning they changed the whole conversation within 3 weeks. I already confirmed it on carfax and I am under warranty but I never received any responses to emails or phone calls they are ignoring me because they don't want to assume the warranty. Fremont confirmed that I had 6 months or 19,000 miles until the warranty expired, and strangely 3 weeks later that warranty no longer appears in their system. In my opinion they don't know what the car has and they are trying to escape the warranty because there are few months left to finish, that's why they don't give me answers, I haven't tried all possible options and I can't find help to solve this problem, I'm stuck at home dor the last 3 months with 2 children without car. Because my only car is at the Porsche parked waiting for someone to take over the car's warranty. Mentioned that the car had no accident, it was just parked in the garage and one morning it didn't start and had to be towed. Terrible costumer service.
Porsche and vw has a drainage issues with certain model vehicles. The drainage plug is set in the trunk near the battery, main system cpu and amplifier. Water gets drain into the lower compartment of the trunk and causes electrical issues with the vehicle. It's been a design flaw from Porsche since before the Cayenne was created. To repair the damage it cost upwards of $3,000 per damage battery, electrical components, amplifier are all billed separate. Porsche warranty refuses to honor the design flaws in correct the issues. Owners are not made aware of the issue until it becomes an issue then Porsche wants no part to do with it. The drainage location can cause an electrical fire and engine malfunction while driving.
