Headlights Problems of Porsche Cayenne

The right front headlight has experienced recurring water/moisture intrusion and has now completely failed and no longer illuminates. This creates a safety concern because the vehicle has substantially reduced forward illumination for nighttime driving. On September 23, 2024, an authorized Porsche dealer performed headlight-related warranty work. The dealer’s repair record states that both headlights were removed and the modules were swapped side-to-side during diagnosis. On September 30, only seven days later, I photographed substantial condensation/water inside the right front headlight. On October 1, 2024, I reported the continuing condition to my Porsche service advisor. In written communications, the advisor asked whether the affected light was the right side. I confirmed that it was. He stated that the condition was “not normal” and that he would order the headlight. He subsequently confirmed in writing that the right headlight had been ordered. I continued reporting the problem. A November 27, 2024 dealer repair order specifically documents: “customer states-right headlight is holding water. ” the headlight was not replaced because the moisture reportedly was not visible when the vehicle was inspected. The water/condensation continued to recur, and I have dated photographs documenting the condition over time. On September 7, 2026, the vehicle displayed the warning “check front right dipped headlight. ” I photographed the warning. The right front headlight has now completely failed and does not illuminate at all. The vehicle and failed headlight are available for inspection. I have reported the matter to Porsche cars north America and provided repair records, dated photographs and contemporaneous communications. Porsche confirmed receipt of the documentation, but the problem remains unresolved. I am concerned that recurring moisture intrusion into the headlight assembly has progressed to complete lighting failure and may represent a safety issue.

Requesting investigation into the rubber sealer replacements and ordering the Porsche cars north America to redo the recall for all subjected vehicles after providing enough headlight rubber sealers to dealerships. The contact owns a 2016 Porsche Cayenne. The contact stated that moisture was entering the headlights on both sides of the vehicle. Overtime, the condensation in the passenger’s side headlight was burned out with a message on the instrument panel. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer gave the contact an estimate without a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was called and informed him that they would provide a nominal portion of the repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Porsche Cayenne. The contact had received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v656000 (exterior lighting). The contact became aware of condensation in the headlights and that the headlights were very dim. The contact made an appointment with a dealer and had the recall repair performed; however, the headlights were still dim while in operation. The vehicle was returned to the dealer however, no additional assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Porsche has recalled the 2011 for headlight becoming loose. I have a 2004 with same problem. Any type of vibration or bump it becomes loose safety hazard when driving at night. Porsche is aware of driveshaft clunking because of faulty bushings and will not recall driveshafts it clunks whenn you need to accelerate to passs a semi but also when slowing down to a stop it also does it too. Porsche dealerbin wallingford CT will not acknowledge workshop campaigns.

I purchased a 2014 Porsche Cayenne diesel new in August 2014 equipped with the convenience package which includes bi xenon headlights with "Porsche dynamic lighting system" (pdls). The pdls is quite complicated and has some good features but it does not illuminate down the road very far and is dangerous on hilly terrain. Something in the system makes the top of the beam shut off sharply so if you approach a hill you can not see beyond the base of the hill. Even reflective surfaces are not illuminated. I do a lot of driving on hilly terrain with a lot of wildlife. This is a dangerous situation. I have written this up on each of 4 visits to the Porsche dealer and they say until Porsche comes up with a fix, there is nothing they can do. Porsche refuses to do anything about it.

The contact stated that the burning odor was more prevalent after the catalytic converter was replaced under a class action lawsuit. The vehicle was taken to hennessey Porsche located at 990 mansell rd, roswell, GA 30076, (770) 643-6100, and Porsche atlanta perimeter located at 4006 carver dr, atlanta, GA 30360, (888) 893-6299, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000. Ah.

The contact owns a 2008 porsce Cayenne s. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the front passenger¿s side headlight became detached approximately six to eight inches from the light socket. The headlight warning light illuminated on several occasions prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic for diagnostic testing but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they were not familiar with the failure. The failure mileage was 55,500. The current mileage was 57,000. The VIN was not available.
