1 Body problem of the 2009 SAAB 9-3

Failure Date: 03/14/2015

My hood release( what I pull to pop the hood inside of the car) broke 14 months ago and I had the old SAAB dealer fix it. You would pull it and nothing would happen. About a month ago the same thing happened. The hood would remain in the completely shut position. On 3-14-15 I was driving 40 miles per hour and the hood flew up and smashed into the windshield. Thank goodness I was not on the highway and there were no cars close by. If this happened on the highway I hate to think what could have happened. It is a very serious issue and clearly there is a manufacturing defect in the hood release mechanism. The hood is unsalvageble as it is so bent.

6 Body problem of the 2004 SAAB 9-3

Failure Date: 01/02/2012

The rear driver's side door lock actuator doesn't always lock or unlock using the keyfob. It sometimes clicks like it's trying to lock/unlock, but is always . 5-1 second slower than the other doors. It does not have a key slot to unlock the door via a key. The door can be locked/unlocked using the push/pull rod on the interior - until the actuator fully freezes, then it can't be locked or unlocked at all.

8 Body problem of the 2003 SAAB 9-3

Failure Date: 01/01/2008

Door handles and side body molding are fading abnormally. Door handles are pretty much white in color. They were originally black. This shouldn't happen after only 4 years, especially with a car like a SAAB (for which you think you are paying for quality).
