1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2008 SAAB 9-7x

Failure Date: 01/14/2016

I got a trouble code for cylinder #7 misfire. It is the lifters going out due to the afm or dod, whatever gm calls it. The system shutting down the 8 cylinder to 4 cylinders. $3000 job for something that I'm sure gm is very aware of. These 5. 3s with this afm will have this problem. It's just a matter of when.

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2008 SAAB 9-7x

Failure Date: 03/11/2015

"takata recall" purchased from eastchester Chrysler Jeep dodgr dealership in bronx, NY 10486 , on Feb. 28, 2015, engine light illuminated on dashboard indicating a possible problem. I took it back approximately 7x to the dealer for repair and approximately 8 additional times at other mechanics. Unfortunately, light continues today. Both headlights were problem; drivers side beginning first dimming very low. Several weeks later, the passenger side headlight began to have problems as well. Eventually it became a necessity to become an expensive out-of- pocket expense. Finally, the stability check light continuously comes on and off making it necessary to stop and turn off and restart vehicle as suggested by dealer mechanic advice. Allinformation described is verified with documents.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 SAAB 9-7x

Failure Date: 03/25/2014

In March 2014, while operating the vehicle, the warning bell sounded, and an engine light (with down arrow) illuminated. The driver information center displayed "stabilitrak off", and the car immediately slowed from 45mph to 15mph. The speed of the vehicle would not pass 25mph, and there wasn't even enough power to climb a small hill. After deploying the hazard indicator, and pulling over, the engine was shut off. Upon waiting 2-3 minutes and restarting the engine, the problem did not recur. Since then, the problem has recurred at least 3 dozen times, and it is becoming more frequent. This fault can easily have catastrophic results.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 SAAB 9-7x

Failure Date: 07/26/2012

Engine light with apparent cylinder misfires on cylinders 1, 4, 6 or 7 - believed to be possible afm lifter concern. Dealership wants to rip entire engine apart and claims 28-30 hours of labor at approximately $3500. This does not include parts (quoted $7500 total). They allege camshaft needs to be replaced. Gm willing to extend 15% discount but has essentially declined that vehicle has a mechanical and/or defective part. Lifter appears to be defective. Vehicle has 60k miles.
