The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated while driving, the brake lights came on and when she engaged the brake pedal, the brake lights shut off. The failure was diagnosed three times by a mechanic and the brake light switch was replaced; however, the failure was not corrected. The dealer stated the problem was within the brake light switch and the repair was not permanent. The brake master cylinder was also defective because the rubber around the cylinder had to be replaced when the brake fluid leaked. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 81,000.
