The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Aura. The contact stated while driving 75 mph with cruise control activated, the vehicle lost cruise control functionality with the "service traction" message displayed. Additionally, the brake lights turned on unintendedly. The contact stated that the brake lights remained illuminated; however, the brake lights would turn off while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Service esc warning light will come on randomly causing the brake lights to illuminate without pushing the brakes. Brake lights will sometimes turn off when the brake pedal is depressed. This has been the subject of a recall and has been in for the recall twice but still having issues. The transmission can be moved from park without depressing the brake pedal. The lights will malfunction while driving.

Car reads service ecm, reduced engine power, service traction. Throttle body has been replaced, but the previous issues occurred. Car seems to want to stall. Upon reducing speed to slow down. Then when I try to accelerate, I cant accelerate when engine is still on. Car will idle up and down and reduce power. If car is in park for a few minutes, error messages stated above will also appear. Car reduced engine power on highway while at 60mph, hard to steer. Car will hesitate when slowing down to make turns at reduced speed.
The vehicle's abs, traction and ecm caused the vehicle to lose all power and steering while going highway speeds. All the warning lights are on and car can no longer move under its own power ( it has fried a ecm in under two weeks).
Power steering gtoes out without warning , car will not accelerate when this happens mostly at highway speeds.
The Saturn Aura has repeatedly had door lock switches go out, each time the front head light is replaced, it blows out again, the lights inside the car dim randomly. The traction control/abs lights are disabled on the car constantly despite replacing the ecm, upper and lower intake gaskets, coolant flushing, and other cleared codes. The car jerks and jolts when slowing down, parking, starting, and changing gears. It violently pushes the car. The engine light and tire pressure lights also remain constant despite consistent work on the car. Four different dealerships (including a Chevrolet dealership) have been unable to fix the issues with the car. The car also engaged low power mode and almost caused numerous accidents because the car stopped being able to accelerate while on the road.
I bought my 2008 Saturn Aura xr used off a car lot last year around March I started having starting issues in may shortly after buying the car . I have replaced the starter battery & other costly things but still have the no start no crank issue with my car it's still driveable but when the car heats up my car wont start until after the car cools for about 30 minutes to an hour my car is not showing signs of overheating this problem is very stressful & dangerous I'm tired of being stuck when I go places also sometimes my car doesn't go past 20 mph & I have to pull over shut the engine down and wait 15 minutes & my driver seat stopped working.
Anti theft light is on, disabling my car. When the anti theft light comes on all other dash lights flicker and my needles go up and down. My message board states all pwoer steering, service esc, and low tire air messages. I have replaced my intermediate shaft, steering column, and my bcm & nothing is working. Ive taken my car to the chev dealership for all services and they do not want to work on it anymore because they cannot determine the issue. Single mom stuck without a car now, bc gm will not recall this car for this issue.
The brake lights constantly stay on. When I hit the brakes, they go off for 5 seconds and then come back on. The esc alert/traction control alert always turns on. Acceleration and transmission issues. Rpms shoot up and jerks into next gear. Sometimes these things are like this right from when I turn the car on, and sometimes they happen after I've been driving a little while. It has done this before and there was a recall on the car for it. I brought it in, and was fixed. About a year later it started again but I was told they didn't cover it to be fixed again.
Ets or etc comes on randomly when it's wet and rainy traction control comes on constantly brakes are sticking trouble shifting gears power steering locked up has to have the power steering pump changed I recently bought this 08 Aura and approximately 1month of having it the front passenger wheel broke off including control arm throwing myself in the car into the other lane of traffic almost causing an accident very terrifying also when the power steering pump went out and it broke the serpentine belt had to have that changed along with power steering pump oil leak low tire pressure checked light constantly on traction control light comes on and off constantly ectecs light comes on constantly bakhtar spend constantly when trying to go uphill like there is no traction when parking brake is applied all wheel steel spin as if the brake is not applied brake rotors and brake pads where wear out very often back brake caliber problems transmission seeming to slip years rpms are fluctuating core having problems exhilarating in the previous boxes to check axing what was wrong with the vehicle I was only allowed to pick three I have more than three to complain about suspension steering wheels abs system abs light comes on and off constantly every day fuel system and lighting lights come on by there self brake lights do not work or work when they want to fuel system is burning a lot of gas for no reason no acceleration from stop rpms fluctuating dashboard lights cut on and off cruise will not disengage tire sensor light comes on constantly every day all day.
Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction, or false code. Power steering stops working in transit. Car has to be shut off and restarted to regain use.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Saturn Aura. On several occasions, while the vehicle was being driven, the rear brake lights illuminated independently when the brake pedal was not depressed. Additionally, the service traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per an unknown recall regarding the service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control. Freedom Chevrolet Buick GMC by ed morse (located at 8008 marvin d love fwy, dallas, TX 75237, (972) 330-4981) was contacted by phone and confirmed that the vehicle was no longer included in the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 162,000.
I was on my way to wal-mart. As I was driving my car all of a sudden wasn't going as I pressed on gas so I notice something strange was going on tried to shift it wouldn't downshift. Then I pulled into middle lane that is were it slowly stopped. Then I shut it off started my car again to go to a safer place it started, continue driving about less then a mile turned into wal-mart and as I was turning in car gas pedals and shift was not working. So it rolled and I was able to get into parkingnlot wal-mart. When I tried to reverse and make the car straight it would not move in drive only reverse. I parked my vehicle and called my husband cause I was panic that I almost got hit behind me till I pulled into center lane I didn't want to drive it.
Takata recall my car's power fluctuated which high acceleration then basically down to no power and the rpm gauge shut down while still traveling at 55 mph but the breaks and steering had high resistance which made me go into a panic, I eventually pulled to the curb and turned the car off and called my husband he told me to try making it home at a slow speed if it still drives so I started the car and the rpm gauge was back working and I told him and he said the problem sounds electrical and dangerous so I got home and we hooked up a obd2 code reader and it gave us cofde c0561 so my husband googled the code and it mentioned a recall for this problem then we found your site NHTSA. Gov we followed the steps and discovered there was a pending unrepaired reall on my vehicle and it was about that same problem and explain the fix remedy that involved the bcm so I contacted the chevrole, Cadillac t dealership in victorville CA and made a appointment for 07/15/2019 to have the recall performed and as we arrived for the recall we were greeted by robert khoury and he got information of our visit and immediately stated that if they check the bcm we'll be charged $139. 00 that will be applied to the repair I then let him know NHTSA. Gov said the recall will be done free of charge and mr. Khoury then stated junk people post on websites so I told him NHTSA is a official site but he wouldn't listen and stated no pay no fix but we'll repair the break lamp only so I left the car with them hoping the mechanics would do the right thing, I went to my office and printed out NHTSA safety issues & recalls and took it back to the dealership and tryed to show mr khoury but he refused to read it. We left again then was contacted later saying the car was ready and on my way home it repeated the same thing it did which led to the recall I called the dealer and khoury said you didn't wanna pay.
Traction and esc service warnings come on randomly. Car reduces engine power randomly. Car jerks randomly and will not accelerate in traffic. Coolant leaks but coolant warning does not activate, car overheats.
Engine power reduced, traction service esc, and also the brake lights are coming on when without me pressing the brakes.
The power steering will go out and service esc light will come on. Sometimes the steering wheel will snatch when making a turn. The traction will disable and wont enable. When you turn the car off and back on the problem will go away.
I was driving and heard a weird noise. Then the abs light came on, the electronic stability control traction control system came on (service esc and service traction). Start the and driving down the street.
I suffered a power steering failure, it was listed in a recall as a problem for Saturn Aura 2008 but my VIN number doesn't result in their recall. I had the same issue, I call them and said that my car wasn't listed in the recall. I almost crash 3 times and they don't want to fix the problem. It happened while I was try to turn in a busy street and end up on a lawn. They are saying that I have to pay everything out of pocket and that it's not their fault. But it's the exact same issue that they described in the same model and year of the car. I was lucky this time but I feared for my life.
Takata recall when starting the vehicle power steering light comes on and the wheel is hard to turn after restarting the car a few times the light went off and the wheel is back to normal. Now when driving the wheel shakes and makes noise.
My problem started with a left turn blinker, it wouldn't turn on and stay fixed. I have to hold it down. And if I would turn right it would stay down but when turn completed it wont go back up. Then when I start the car I hear it working extra hard and I hear electrical sound in steering wheel when stationed . . . Sensors on tire pressure was changed on the right. . . A year ago. . . But all tire pressure sensors still doesn't show pressure correctly. When breaking the wheel shaking badly after alignment.
I have a recall complaint. . . Recall#: 14e044000 --steering; the wheel is stiff and hard to turn recall#: 14v153000 --steering: electric power assist system; hard to turn wheel, leaking ps fluid, no longer has whining noise. Vehicle was in motion and turning I had previously replaced my battery, because I constantly had to use a battery booster to start it after every time I shut the car off, and the former one became faulty and it tested as a bad battery. Within 2 days of replacing the battery, the ps fluid rapidly started leaking after starting the car ignition and the steering wheel is stiff and very hard to turn now. I've put more ps fluid in my car, but it doesn't help the stiff steering at all almost as if I never even put any ps fluid in it to begin with. I'm also having an electrical issue to where when I go to put on my brakes sometimes, it'll dim my lights at the same time while driving down the road.
Transmission jumps from 1st to 2nd gear and will not accelerate.
The power steering in this vehicle randomly and without warning malfunctions. Initially, the problem occurred very sporadically, and only when the vehicle was first started up and still in park. Turning the vehicle off, and then back on remedied the issue. However, the vehicle will now lose power steering while driving, causing the vehicle to be very difficult to steer. So far, it has only happened at low speeds, typically when I begin driving after stopping at a stop sign, red light etc. When it occurs, it takes extreme effort to pull the car over to the shoulder. It's as if the steering wheel is locked. Once pulled over, restarting the vehicle resolves the issue, although sometimes it takes several restarts. This is a dangerous situation that now happens daily. I was told that my 2009 Saturn Aura was not a part of the 2014 recalls that addressed this issue. I did not own the vehicle in 2014, so I cannot verify if the previous owner received any recall notifications. Because this is a common complaint, I believe that a recall should be issued for all 2009 Saturn Auras.
My 17 year old daughter was driving her car and the steering went out. Her car has had the electric stability control turn on and the vehicle shut off in the middle of driving. This car is a huge hazard. I have never been notified of the recalls issued back in 2012 and 2014 regarding these issues and now no one will address them or fix them as they are expired.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Saturn Aura. While driving 25 mph, the contact lost control of the steering and it required excessive force to maneuver. The contact turned into a vacant parking lot and turned off the vehicle. When the vehicle was restarted, the steering returned to normal and "service esc" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to george white Chevrolet (1719 s high Ave, ames, IA 50010, (515) 233-2211), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 192,000.
I bought this car in 2016 and have spent more than $2000 making repairs unaware that that these repairs could have been covered by the recall. I have paid for repairs: . In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the body control module (bcm) connection may result in voltage fluctuations in the brake apply sensor (bas) circuit. These fluctuations can cause one or more of these conditions: the brake lights to illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights to not illuminate when the pedal is pushed; difficulty disengaging the cruise control; moving the gear shifter out of the 'park' position without pushing the brake; and disablement of crash avoidance features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features. Any of the above failure conditions increases the risk of a crash. The transmission shift cable may fracture. If the transmission shift cable fractures while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver will not be able to shift the lever to the "park" position, or remove the ignition key. If the vehicle is not in the "park" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit.
While driving my daughter to school, I made a left turn into the school parking lot at a low rate of speed and steering went out. Power steering light illuminated and dash reads service esc. Very difficult to steer. Turned car off and went to crank again. . . Steering restored, indicator went off.
When it's hot out and I turn a/c on the vehicle's reduced engine power pops up and my vehicle will only go 10 to 20 mph,if I'm on the freeway it drops down to that mph and is so not safe I've tried fixing code after code and still have the issue, everyone online can't figure it out either after taking it to multiple gm dealerships or having there own mechanic try to fix it. When the vehicle is in park for 10 min. It will kick on and do it also.
Every so often as the car is in motion if on the main roads or the freeway I get a warning regarding the traction control and esc warning or something like that, and the break lights are light up when I'm not even pushing on the break pedals. And some times when the warning lights come on, I'll lose some speed and again would have to accelerate whenever I'm driving just to stay at the speed limit. It gets very annoying when it just keeps happening. Please help.
2009 Saturn Aura stationary shows messages "service traction, esc off, service esc" constantly on the gauge cluster. Alongside the messages the abs light and the esc off icon is constantly on in the gauge cluster. When the vehicle was driven the message "pwr str" referring to power steering showed on the gauge cluster then disappears. Upon researching these issues, I have found that NHTSA and gm have issued recalls and tsbs regarding these issues, however the VIN for my vehicle does not show its under recall. I suspect this may be the case of vins not included in the recall system. Nhtsa campaign number: 14v153000, 14e044000, 14v153000, 14v252000, I have contacted gm and was told my vehicle is not covered under recall and must be taken to a dealer for diagnostics under case number 8-440138641. I will take it to the dealer for the vehicle to be diagnosed, however in the case the vehicle is involved in an accident due to the esc and power steering. I want NHTSA to have a record on file of these issues as a precautionary measure.
Upon taken off my traction stabilizer control light comes on my car will then stutter upon accelerating my car will smooth out.
Traction control button (triangle on dash) will display then gauges start flickering back and fourth like an electrical issue and then on display it says service esc and car will not shift into gears and you cannot steer or control vehicle properly with these issues going on. I entered my VIN because there are recalls for these issues but it says my VIN was not recalled. Once car is shut off it will reset itself I guess but it has happened several times now.
The steering has gotten very hard to steer at slow speeds. It takes effort to turn it and once turning, it will not return straight but you have to forcefully turn the steering wheel back to go straight instead of it wanting to go straight . It is not the power steering which is working fine. A machanic told me that this is an issue for many gm cars and to check. Sure enough there are many models of my car that have this issue and have been recalled. I have luckily avoided any accidents so far but the problem seems to be getting worse.
