The vehicle will not shift into gears properly. When the gear is placed in park, the vehicle will roll in reverse, and, trying to place it in drive takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Once its in drive slot, the vehicle will not not go forward.

Doors lock and unlock while driving and when parked.

While driving, the car suddenly reduced speed, engine light comes on stating to service traction. Had the car repaired. It happened twice since, each time a day after picking up the car from the dealership. The last time, Wednesday, October 28th, I was making a left turn, the car suddenly reduced speed, lights on. This is very dangerous. Contacted gm, no help at all!.

Steering started pulsating and moving itself. When trying to maneuver, the steering stuck and when enough force was used the steering broke free but would stick again. This resulted in somewhat erratic movements on the road. Potential for a crash felt as though it was high. Took to dealer where the power steering module and motor were replaced for a total of 767. 26.

This is the second time in the last year I lost use of my steering wheel. The first time, I was backing up and lost all control of my steering. I did not report it because there was not a warning light. Today, sept. 3,2015 I was driving through the parking lot of the school (may 2 to 5 mph) when I lost all control of the steering. I wasn't able to turn the wheel either way, it was completely locked up. I stopped the car and turned off the ignition. After a copy of minutes, I restarted the car and it was fine. It was very scary knowing I could not control the car. I noticed older vehicles had the same issue and they had a recall. I believe the 2009 Aura should be investigated for the same recall.

Travelling at 55 mph vehicle stalled sharply and jerked. It will drive but has no power.

7/6/15-pulled into a parking space, put car in park, got back in, put car in reverse, pulling out backwards. When I put car back into drive it wouldn't go into forward. Car was running but I had no gears and my shifter was loose. . . Nothing. I looked on line for any other recalls on my 2008 Saturn Aura for this problem and found bulletin # 14152, which states my vehicle has a condition which the transmission shift cable could fracture at any time. When this fracture occurs, the drive may not be able to select a different gear and the vehicle may move in an unintended direction. The car may not be able to be shifted into park or any other gear. I believe this is what has occurred. When I called the phone # for Saturn I was told that my car does not come under this recall, yet back in November of 2012 I did receive a recall for a similar problem with the transmission shift cable that has end fitting tabs that may fracture or break. This problem was fixed by a gm dealer in August of 2013. Checking online I found that recall # 14152 expands an earlier recall #12106 (which was corrected 8/2013), yet Saturn says this June 2014 recall # 14152 does not apply to my car. I believe that it does. Can anyone help me with this so I can drive my car again?.

My vehicle began with service traction illumination a couple of years ago. Took it into the gm elk grove dealership and they informed me that I had a bad catalic converter and fuel injection cleaning needed. Items were replaced and service completed. Within a couple/few years, my service traction light came back on with the check engine light and car began to stall, same issues as before. Took it back to gm elk grove dealership and they stated my catalic coverter needed to be replaced, my fuel tank, my air mass flow sensor replaced along with intake shaft sensor and another sensor. I fixed all items. Today not even 6 months later, my service traction light is back on, check engine light, and engine power reduced while driving on freeway. Speed reduced as low as 45miles per hour and when you come to a complete stop, car shakes.

35r wave plate failure.

My car will not go into park. I was reading on it and it said that the shifter cable has been recalled before. We do not know if it was fixed, and we need to get it fixed before it causes an accident. The recall number that has been entered in 2012 is 12v460000. Can you please tell us what we need to do.

2009 Saturn Aura gm needs to update the recalls on the 09 Aura. In the past 4 mos I have luckily survived 8 crashes, now, from total loss of power steering. No one @ gm/Saturn will help. They say my VIN# is not in the recall, but it is the exact same thing happening as is in the recall. . Complete loss of power steering. Triangle illuminates on dash & says esc service power steering. . . Dealer could not diagnose problem, couldnt get a code. I subscribed to on star so when it happened I would be able to get a diagnostic code, & luckily their computer diagnosed the issue, & got the codes which are the exact problems in the recalls code c0545 power steering, & c0561 traction control module not functioning. They now tell me I need a complete steering column, which dorman products says my VIN# is not in recall on steering shaft! general motors/Saturn please update your recalls< there are 1000's with the same issues in the 09 Auras, before one of us here becomes a statistic! I assume Saturn is doing nothing because they have filed bankruptcy & gone out of business. I can not drive this car & be safe!!! someone please help!! I think we need an attorney!.

Car stopped, no accident involved. Local mechanic inspected and told me that the transmission cable had broken. Brought to courtesy motors in lafayette, la. . I was informed that the 2009 model was not a part of the recall that involved other Saturns that had been recalled through 2008. I purchased my 2009 in late 2008 and I would think that the same type part was used in the 2009. GMC will not repair the part at their cost. I think that the 2009 models should have been recalled as well as all other model years, for the safety of those buyers of 2009 models (the last year they were sold). .

Vehicle will not go in reverse. Have done some research and have seen that gm is aware of a shifter cable fraying, but no recalls have been sent out.

The master cylinder failure due to rod shifting and locked up front right brake. Burnt up the caliper, brake pads and over heated brake rotor. May have also caused brake fluid to overheat. Dealer charged for brake pads, caliper, machining of rotors, installation, etc. They misdiagnosed the abs hydraulic pump (which I also had to purchase) before ultimately replacing faulty master cylinder.

My husband was alone driving, was early a. M. When a coyote ran out on country road. He has had this many times before having lived in the area over 60+ yrs. He was in 2 lane road, he went to brake and swerved when he said the car became unable to control, he hit the burn on side of road flipping car numerous times ending upside down. He was stuck in seat belt unable to get loose for 15 min finally getting out of it. He was seen by drs @ hospital and released with bruised ribs, cuts and abrasions. When I talked to him on phone later he relates what had happened also saying "it seemed like the car had a mind of its own, it wouldn' t steer or brake right. " I told him to rest and I would talk to him later. That was the last time I ever talked to him, as he died of the blunt force trama from that accident, that was oct 7, 2014. I believe his vehicle is to blame for this accident, as I know what kind of driver he is, off road , around our rural area animals are always jumping out on the road, and he never has had a accident. He doesn't panic, he knows how to drive off road, and have raced in score off road functions in he younger days. He was an excellent driver, driving others, because he didn't drink, and was very safe in driving.

My vehicle was taken to southern Chevrolet in alexandria, la to repair a recall on this vehicle and when the vehicle was released to me the panel on either side of the shift control had been ripped out and left in a condition it could not be replaced. My car has yet to be repaired. I have pictures of the damage left by tech. If you will furnish me an address to send them to.

Random error warning messages keep appearing on my display center, ie. Airbag needs service, door ajar, stability control needs service, etc. Overhead dome lights stay on until shut off by the battery saver after 20 min. , these are caused by the malfunctioning "body control module".

I received a recall notice July 2014. I called conte chevy of freeport, NY, 516-623-9600,they advised me they would notify when the parts come in. I'm still waiting. Please advise what to do next thank you.

Just recently my 2008 Saturn Aura has been hit or miss with starting. The battery was replaced 1 month ago & there aren't any other known issues with the vehicle. It also has very low mileage; 45,000. The vehicle sometimes will not start. No noises, it just won't turn on. Sometimes you have to turn the key many times for it eventually start. I'm wondering if it's possibly the ignition switch and if there are any other reported incidents. I know that GMC has had recalls on other makes/models for this same issue & so I'm wondering if this vehicle should now be added to that list.

If you are driving in the rain going 70 suddenly the car will slow down to 25 mph because the drainage system shorts out the computer in the dashboard.

There are 4 recalls out for my car, and I have never received any letters to get the work done. The summer of 2013 the car stalled on me and I had to get it towed and pay to replace a wiring harness. I'm not sure if this was due to a part that was recalled or not. If it is, I would like to know if I can get refunded for it. Also, right before winter 2013 my remote starter quit working; the engine light is on; I'm getting a false warning light for the tire pressure; I have heard a bing noise like the door was open because I was using the turn signal when driving; my left front door speaker comes on whenever it feels like it; the lights have blink on and off and my car almost wouldn't start. I began having issues with my car constantly jerking as the car accelerated up to 40mph. I assumed I must have put bad gas in my car since I visited a gas station I normally do not frequent. I took the car in and they claimed it was bad gas but here we are a year later with the same issues and clearly it was not bad gas and I got ripped off for replacing my fuel pump and having to pay for a rental car. I have wasted over $2k trying to figure out what the issue is with my car and I still have all my receipts as proof. The car jerks when it is very cold out and very hot, my car stalled numerous of times since this issue has began. I have had tons of diagnostics done and no one can figure out why it is "misfiring". I had my throttle body cleaned, checked my fuel lines and injectors, had the spark plugs checked, and had the maf sensor replaced twice. The check engine light came on twice but threw false codes specifically the maf sensor. I have been researching online for a year and I noticed other Saturn Aura drivers have been experiencing the same issue with no help from gm or a solution. I keep the maintenance up on my car so I do believe there seems to be some sort of known failure with these cars. I had my transmission checked and flushed and was told its in good condition. So either this is some sort of electrical issue or a bad part that is not being recalled. I would like for recall to be made on this model since numerous of drivers have reported this issue.

Transmission shifter cable failed. Car at first would not shift into reverse, and later wouldn't go into park and could not be started. I am reporting this because this has happened with other 2007 Saturn Auras, and there have been several accidents involving problems with failure of the transmission shifter cable. Despite an active investigation NHTSA action number : ea11015, and articles in the news stating gm is offering free repairs for customers who experience this problem, gm said they had no information regarding this problem and would not cover the repair.

I dropped my son off at school today. When I arrived, I did not put the car in park. He exited the car, closed the door, and I drove away. About 100 yards later, I made a left turn, and the passenger door flew open. Had some one been in that seat, they could have fallen out easily. I tried to close the door, but it would not latch. I put the car in park and tried again. It still did not latch. I locked and unlocked the door using the power lock switch, and that only worked after two or three times. Later on my way home, I stopped at the store. Turned the car off, got out and shut the door. Again, it did not latch, and went through the same procedure. Then a repeat situation when returning home. I called Saturn customer service who set up an appt with my gm dealer and was told it would be between $50 and $100 to just have them look at it. Really? to me, this is a serious safety issue and in my opinion should be investigated free of charge.

I drove into my garage to park the car. I put the car in park and the shifter shifted very hard. I decided to back the car out of the garage and when I went to put the car in park the gear did not engage. In fact, no gear would engage and the only way I could stop my car was to put on the parking break. I had it towed to my local dealership and they informed me that the shifter cable was broken. I started researching this problem and found that there was a recall for this exact same problem on the 2008 and 2009 Saturn Aura models, but not on the 2007 models which is of course the one I have. Upon googling this problem it seems that there are several Saturn Aura 2007 model owners that have had this same problem.

Rear drivers side rear door lock stopped working initially, then drivers door stopped working randomly, now all are working randomly. Also, gear shifter when in park, is not always engaged an has rolled. This also seems to cause the car not to start at times as it doesn't think it is in park, giggle the gear shift and it will start. These are safety items and I don't believe they are normal wear and tear items that should be going at 50,000 ish miles.

The contact owns a 2009 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the gear shifter is covered in chrome. The sun reflects on it and blinds the driver. The dealer stated that they will not do anything to correct this issue. The failure and current mileages were 3,027.

Driving a 2001 Saturn Aura xr about 30-35 mph when traffic in front of me was stopped, applied brakes, there were none. Hit vehicle in front of me at 30-35 mph and no air bags either.

In October 2006, my husband and I purchased a new 2007 Saturn Aura. In December 2006, we received a recall notice from the Saturn of greenville, nc dealership. Modification # 06147. On 12/29/06 I took the car to the dealership to have the car serviced for the recall. As explained to me the recall had to do something with the power steering. On February 21, 2007, I had an upsetting event occur with my new Aura. I drove approximately three miles from my home to a child care center to drop off my one-year old son. I continued my drive to work approximately 2. 5 miles. As I approached my place of employment, I noticed some smoke and immediately thereafter lost my power steering. I struggled with the steering until I reached our parking lot and then I ran from the car in panic. Immediately upon leaving the vehicle, the engine erupted into a fiery blaze. My CO-workers witnessed the fire in disbelief and assisted me with contacting the fire department. The fire consumed the front end of my vehicle and it was declared a total loss. The car only had approximately 5800 miles. After contacting Saturn corporate, the so called 'recall' above was actually only a service bulletin. Even though the notice we received in the mail had stated on it, urgent/recall notice. Since the fire, gm has re-purchased the automobile and has refunded our money. We do not know the cause of the engine fire nor do we know if the fire was related to the service bulletin we had the car serviced for in December 2006.
