Gasoline Fuel System Problems of Saturn ION - part 2

Hi, I have a 2004 Saturn Ion, with only 22,000 miles on it. It seems to have a problem starting in cold weather. I had to take my moms 1988 Buick to work yesterday because my car wouldn't start in the cold! it happened about two weeks ago, and I waited about 10 minutes and it started right up. About a month ago it happened when I was going out to lunch, same thing after ten minutes it started right up. I can't keep being late for work and missing appointments and when I take my wife's car she has to walk 15 blocks with the kids to school and if it's too cold for this car to start I don't really want my kids to walk. I called Saturn today and was told they're not aware of any problems, yet when you search the internet there's thousands of people complaining about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Failure of gm to notify me of 3 recalls on 2003 Saturn Ion. It is possible that this work has already been done, but I cannot tell at this time and would like this problem investigated. Recalls are: NHTSA campaign id number: 04v547000 NHTSA campaign id number: 04v003000.

After a few stops, no matter what the temp is outside/nice or cold. . . My car will not start. It simply clicks and will not turn over. . . Feels/sounds like it is not getting any fuel. If I wait 10 minutes or so and then try again, the car will start. I have had it stall while I'm driving when it's cold out. I have had it to the shop numerous times and they can not find anything wrong with it!!! my engine light is on due to gross leak emission control, and they can not correct the issue!!!! there have been numerous complaints about this and the manufacturer will not take responsibility, however they do not mind charging me each and every time I take it in, and each and every time they have neglected to fix the problem!!! frustrated.

When the temperature is cold (usually below 40), my car will not start. It simply clicks and security sensors start coming on. If I wait 10 minutes or so and then try again, the car will start and promptly stall out. I have had it stall while I'm driving when it's cold out. There are numerous complaints about this and the manufacturer will not take responsibility.

In cold weather my Saturn Ion will fail to start. The ignition will click a couple of time then nothing. I wait 8-10 minutes and try again sometimes it will attempt to start sometimes not. Then I have to wait some more and try again, eventually it will start. I had 2 new batteries replaced and still problem persists. I found a Saturn message board that addressed this very problem. Hope you can get Saturn to recall this issue.

I bought the car brand new, drove one mile off the lot, the engine stopped and would not start. It was towed the next morning to the dealer and they replaced the engine control module. At 15,400 miles the car again would not start, they replaced the ignition switch. At 16,000 miles the chime for the ignition would not turn off and the ignition housing was replaced. At 19,500 miles I complained that the car would start and immediately turn off again, the dealer said nothing was wrong. The next day the ignition would not turn off and the key was stuck. They replaced the ignition housing again. At 22,300 miles I complained that the key was sticking in the ignition, the dealer said nothing was wrong. About 6 months later (last weekend before leaving to go out of town) at 27,200 miles the ignition would not turn off and the key was stuck again. The ignition housing was replaced for the third time! I contacted the manufacturer and was only offered a one year extension on the warranty. What good will an extended warranty do for a car that you can't trust to drive because you never know whether it will start or turn off when you need it to!!! I will never buy another Saturn again!!!!!.

I purchased a 2003 Saturn Ion level 2 brand new for Saturn of la crosse. Approximently 25 times since I purchased this vehicle, the car will not start, and I have to wait approximently 10 minutes before the vehicle will start. I have not contacted any dealership at this point, but did find multiple people who are experincing the same problems. I am upset that Saturn is not taking this matter more seriously and making a recall notice. Does it have to start on fire or someone die before something is done?.

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion coupe. When I would drive for a little while and let the car warm up, there are intermittent occasions where I will slow down suddenly, for example, the changing of a stop light, and when I either come to the stop or when I accelerate again, the car would in essence stall out and turn off. However the car would start right back up when I put it back in park. It happened once, maybe twice b4 I had a chance to realize it was a serious problem. On the 12th of January it stalled as I was making a right hang turn at an intersection and because of this, I lost power steering and hit the median and a rock bed on the median. There has been substantial damage to the vehicle and it is currently still in the shop. I do not know at this point in time the exact reason for the stall. Just that I have done nothing but take good care of this car and see no reason for it do this.

Consumer having problems getting two recalls performed on the vehicle. When the consumer tried to make an appointment, the dealership told the consumer he had heard of the recall but was not familiar with what it said, the consumer wanted to make an appointment for the weekend, but was told the most skilled mechanics worked weekdays. The consumer felt the dealership had only been minimally informed of the recall.
