Steering Wheel problems of the 2001 Saturn LS

Two problems related to steering wheel have been reported for the 2001 Saturn LS. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2005

Upper portion of steering wheel snapped off completely under slight pressure just above the steering wheel spokes. Vehicle has never suffered any collision damage.

2 Steering Wheel problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2002

There was an intermittent "clanking" noise when turning the steering wheel left or right. The dealer cannot duplicate or determine cause of problem. Mr scc.
