3 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Saturn LS

Failure Date: 08/29/2013

Affected parts drop box not functional. Electrical system is defective. Noticed smoke from turn signal area. Pulled to emergency lane, pulled off rubber flap and smoke was pouring into cabin. Turned car off. Could not see flames, smoke stopped after a few minutes. Needless to say turn signals, headlight dimmer, radio, blower motor, door locks are now all malfunctioning. Already had to pay for bcm replacement as not covered under recalls. This make/model is dangerous and needs all complaints addressed.

4 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Saturn LS

Failure Date: 06/01/2012

The front right turn signal socket fused and ceased to work. (possibly an arc from nearby lightning). I have searched and had repair shops search - only to find that contrary to the promise general motors made to congress in the bailout and the agreement to close Saturn -- they have ceased providing a safety feature for the car -- much less a vital part at exorbitant rates.

9 Turn Signal problem of the 2001 Saturn LS

Failure Date: 10/07/2003

I was on my way to work, when my steering wheel started smoking. It looked like I was smoking 3 cigarettes. It had a blue color to it and smelled like an electrical problem. My bright lights flashed then stayed on. It was 8 am and I did not have my lights on. When I got to work, the nearest Saturn dealership towed it to their dealership service area. (Saturn of kings mall, mason, OH). Brian, the service man, notified me that the turn signal had burned out. Bare wires were rubbing. He also stated that he has never seen this problem before. The dealership is charging me for this problem do to my warranty expired at 36,000 miles and I have 36,900 miles. I felt that this is a liability product defect and I should not be charged.

10 Turn Signal problem of the 2000 Saturn LS

Failure Date: 08/11/2003

Rear turn signals and brakes lights work intermittently, new bulbs have been replaced 5 times; changed sockets from right to left lights and sometimes this will work for a while. Took to Saturn garage to check and they charged me $45. 00 labor and $1. 25 for a new bulb. They couldn't tell me why this problem keeps reoccurring. I took my Saturn Ls, 2000 into them to find the cause for this problem but received no results; unless they consider a new bulb a final fix. But the problem reoccured 2 days afterwards. I switched the sockets from right to left in the rear lights and now they are working but for how long I do not know. I just found out through my September issue of highways magazine that a recall on exterior lighting: turn signal switch was recalled in July of 1999 of the 2000 models; I purchased my Ls 2000 Saturn in April of 2000. I was never notified of a recall.
