1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2020

Hi! I recently bought a car from a dealership called epb auto. The car I purchased was describes as having no recalls nor other problems besides the abs light (which I was informed by the dealer would go off with new tires) on and a check engine light. The dealer specified that the check engine was just the gas cap. Which he claimed that the mechanic read with his computer. I was told there was no problems, also claimed he'd replace the windshield. Which he did not. I tried to call to explain the situation. He claimed the mobile mechanic won't be able to come out until Monday. My whole vitality relies on that vehicle and I cannot find a mechanic that will fix the recalls. Please help! recalls include the timing chain and timing tensioner, windshield, liftgate, air bag sensors, electrical system failures.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2019

Air bag sensor in passenger seat fails intermittently and light sup the air bag sensor light on the dashboard, and disables the passenger side front airbag, even when an adult passenger is occupying the seat. This can happen whenever the car is powered on.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2017

The factory installed sunroof leaks rainwater into the interior of the car. It has affected airbags, sensors, electrical systems and power systems. If the car gets wet, the water travels to the electrical system to circuit boards and discharges the battery. The vehicle will die in traffic if water travels to the circuit board during driving. Airbags have evidence of water traveling through their assembly. Floor and seats are wet after rain, sprinkler, car wash, morning dew. Doesn't seems to be dependent on amount of water received. Battery tests fine on full charge. Alternator functioning correctly. Problem is directly related to sunroof leakage. Sunroof seal is not yet under recall. Yesterday, after a day of rain, the car had to be charged to drive to work. Drove 20 miles with no apparent power issues, but airbag sensors sent alert through the dash that airbags needed servicing. After work 7 hours later, car drove into okc rush hour traffic, water in the roof sloshed (you can hear it) and the car died. In traffic. Completely discharged the battery. No lights. No hazards. No door locks. No brakes, steering, ability to move the car in or out of gear, or even remove the key from the ignition. Car had to be jumped in order to put gear into neutral to move out of traffic and remove key from ignition. Charged all night on trickle charger and was running fine today. Except, it's raining now.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2017

Just purchased myself a used Saturn Outlook. Happened to storm the night I purchased it. My car has a sunroof and moonroof. They are both leaking into my car. There are currently five airbag sensors that are no longer working and it is believed that the damage is being caused by the leaking water running along the side panels and down under the seats and into the battery area behind the passenger seat. I'm scared that this is will lead to an electrical shortage either at the battery area (its already corroded the connectors on at least one battery), my fuses, or worse. Since my daughter and I both have asthma, mold growth is a serious concern. And worse yet, failure of airbags causing death/serious injury to myself and/or my children and passengers. To see that gm knows there's a problem and is not doing anything to rectify it is absurd. I'm glad that their bottom dollar is more important than us living through an accident. I feel like I'm stuck paying for something I can't afford which isn't remotely my fault (its an obvious design flaw) because surviving an accident, not dying from an electrical malfunction, and breathing when mold grows is actually a pretty important thing. I'm legitimately scared that the airbag malfunctioning might actually kill someone.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2016

Takata recall, I have an issue just like everyone else complaining about their front passenger seat airbags faulty sensor and I contacted the dealer to have them checked it and told me to pay 1k to replace the seat sensor. . . I believe just like many people said it supposed to be a recall for that issue because it's related to an safety issue please take this serious situation and we all hope to get a recall for our cars before we get injured thank you best regards.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. When the front passenger seat was occupied, the air bag sensor indicated that the air bag was off. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. An independent mechanic informed the contact that the air bag sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 122,000.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

We bought our 2007 Saturn Outlook in late July 2016. In early August 2016 the "service air bag" light started turning on and the passenger air bag would turn off when I had someone in the front seat, but lately it turns off randomly and says "service air bag" even when no one is in the front seat. This issue needs to be taken seriously. Families (like mine) own these vehicles. This sensor issue should be fixed by the company who made and sold the faulty sensors in the passenger seats. I can't afford to pay gm $1,000 for a new passenger seat.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

Seat sensor keeps going on and off with or without someone in the passenger seat. I have tried calling dealers, Saturn-gm but have gotten no help with the resolution of this defect. They say that it is a defective sensor but according to a lot of forums this is a well known issue and this should be a safety defect not just a recall. This technically could hurt or kill someone in an accident and they have known about this. If something happens while driving this vehicle I will take this as high as I can take it. This has been happening for at least 6 months.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2013

The airbag sensor in the passenger seat needed to be replaced. Considering they did a recall already with this exact issue, but the fix was reprogramming the sdm computer module. This should have included the sensor as well because the issue is more than a reprogram. It was a very expensive fix, and air bags sensors should last more than 78k. Please reference: NHTSA 07v062000.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the front passenger seat sensor failed since the light should not be illuminated when someone was in the seat. The light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor was it repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and an appointment was scheduled. The failure mileage was approximately 79,100.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated the air bag warning light would illuminate sporadically. The contact was able to locate NHTSA campaign id number: 07v062000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module), in which she was experiencing all the symptoms. The dealer advised her VIN was not included with the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 51,000 and current mileage was 52,000.

12 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2010

We bought the car Jan 8 of 2010 and was still under full warranty- after the first month I brought into Saturn and told them of all issues. They said they got it all fixed in June of 2010 brought it in again for basically same issues and they said they fixed everything again and were also closing down that day so were hurrying me out the door. After that had same issues (especially steering wheel and engine problems, oil leaks, along with electrical problems) and we were directed to go chevy since Saturn was gone. Expressed to them same issues with steering wheel etc. They also fixed a recall on the electrical system. And fixed power steering pump that was broke two months later had same issues with steering and engine and airbag sensor and brought it again and they also fixed another recall, in the headlamp. (we have all documents) now the whole transmission is out and oil leaks again so since it still under power train they are fixing them but gm will not approve them to fix the steering column that needs to be replace nor the airbag sensor issue. We have called them everyday and sent them over all our paperwork the last two years showing that the steering column and airbag sensor have been an issue since before our full warranty was up. I just want my car to be safe and feel like I am in a death trap and still owe a lot of money on it. It is a total lemon and I am stuck with it these issues were from the start when the car was still under full warranty.

13 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2009

The passenger airbag sensor fails to recognize that there is a passenger on the seat and the sensor continues to display off, even when the seat belt sensor states that there is a passenger and that the seat belt must be latched. After latching the seatbelts, the airbag sensor still shows off. The dealer was charging $126 dollars to check the problem today 9/27/11.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with a weight sensor on the passenger side to determine if an adult or child was in the seat. When an adult was in the seat the passenger side air bag light was supposed to come on; however, it failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer six times where the passenger seat and weight sensor module were replaced. The failure continued to recur intermittently. The failure mileage was 8,000 and the current mileage is 55,000. Updated 10/27/10. Updated 12/21/bf the consumer stated the module was replaced in 2008, but the problem has since resurfaced. Updated 12/28/10.
