During a low voltage condition the programming for the tpms and security features was lost. 2nd time it happened. Dealer says it is a design problem that requires software update. I paid once for the update but the problem persists.
The fluid leaked out of the rear differential causing a thumping and grinding noise in the rear differential when making right and left turns from a complete stop. I believe the seal was replaced but has failed again and caused damage to the rear differential and now unsafe to drive. The car has 30,000 miles which is relatively low for that year. The car and is used primarily during the summer months as I live in a semi northern state.

I have experienced peeling of the chrome plating (over plastic) on the inside door release handle on the driver's side door. When I first noticed this, I cut my fingers on the peeling chrome plating. I had to continually cut back the sharp edge, or carefully reach over it, to prevent further cuts to my fingers. The door handle is not available as a service part from gm for the Saturn Sky (and similar pontiac solstice). According to parts catalogs, it was only available as part of the inner door assembly, which is long obsolete for the driver's door side. I was forced to adapt a part from the Chevrolet cobalt (and used an aftermarket part from dorman) to replace the handle when I got tired of dealing with cuts. There are a number of youtube videos showing how to replace the handle, which indicates this is not a one-off problem.
2007 Saturn Sky. Consumer writes in regards to gm safety recall 17036 for a failure of the passenger presence system. The consumer stated the recall repair exceeded a reasonable amount of time.
With there being no resolution to the recall, it's causing a huge hit on my credit score. I'm not sure why that would be, but we need to get it resolved ASAP.
Air seems like will no deployee.
Temperature on ac will go to full hot when the temperature control is turned one click off of cold. I understand that there is an update pic (pic4995a) related to this problem. Does this mean a recall has been issued or that this part would be relpaced free of charge?.
My car was involved with the recall for the ignition. I did have this fixed by a dealer as directed. Soon after this was fixed my car would randomly not start. My car was towed to the dealer who charged me hundreds to trouble shoot this issue with no resolve. After this happened again I brought it to another shop who also charged me hundreds and could not find the issue either. I heard you were looking into this problem with the recall fix and wanted to let you know this has happened to me as well.
To whom it may concern, I would like to notify the NHTSA as well as gm that the recent hummer recall does not include vehicles that share some of it's components that are being recalled currently. It also effects the Chevrolet colorado, GMC canyon trucks. As well as the vehicle I drive which is the Saturn Sky and it's identical pontiac solstice. The Sky/solstice has the same hvac unit and wiring harness that is being recalled due to fire risks in the hummer. I have called my local Chevrolet dealership and there are no active recalls for my Sky. In order to get the revised part that is being installed in the hummers, it would cost me $150 out of pocket without labor. Being that this is my only vehicle for work and school, I fear for my safety due to the fact that this is a low volume vehicle in comparison to the hummer and it will be ignored by both gm and NHTSA. I believe if one vehicle gets recalled for a particular component, it is the job of both gm and NHTSA to see if said components were used in other vehicles, to which gm did for 4 other vehicles; colorado, canyon, Sky, and solstice. Thank you for your time. Please note this complaint is simply to notify, my car has not caught fire, but I do know that my a/c is acting odd lately and I am worried about my safety and the safety of others that is being ignored.
I brought my Saturn Sky that was manufactured by gm to my local Chevrolet dealer. They told me that the module is not on recall although many other models that gm makes did and does have a recall for the same product. I will no longer let anyone ride in the passenger seat. I would hope that someone would force gm to do what they have done for all their other makes and models. If someone gets hurt or possibly killed I will have to be forced to sue someone. They say the process costs $900 and I think if anything they should pay for at least the parts. How can they recall other models and not this model?.
Service airbag light is on. This is a known problem with other Sky owners. I have not heard about a recall from gm, even though gm has recalls for the same part on other models.
Takata recall--I have gotten 2 notices--no known fix according to gm. Ignition recall--took in for repair--didn't repair properly--I had to spend my own money replacing ignition switch because they said I didn't bring back earlier.
Passenger airbag light stays on due to a faulty sensor module. Will not pass virginia inspection. Needs to be recalled because it is a safety issue. Owners of this car should not have to go out and pay upwards to $1000. 00 to have this fixed.
Sensor in passenger seat.
At start up after turning on the a/c the radiator/condenser cooling fan assembly malfunctioned causing the fan to "lock-up". The vehicle began to over heat and the fan assembly began smoking. I'm glad I noticed this at start up and not in normal driving in wich the vehicle could blow up causing injury or fatality to myself and/or others near the vehicle. Yet another safety issue with my Saturn Sky!.

The passenger presence sensor light has been on for awhile. It had been 'fixed' once before when the vehicle was under warranty. The exact same sensor went out several months after warranty expiration June 2012). Concerned because this faulty (disabled) sensor will not deploy passenger-side airbag in an accident.
I have seen the recalls in the news for the Saturn Sky 2006-2007 models, and looked up what happened, and I think the ignition switch problem has happened to me in the 2008 model. I was driving on a state road, and suddenly the car just stopped. I was able to restart it, and nobody was around to hit me, but I never understood what happened. I remember being very afraid of another car coming along and hitting me. Now I see this is exactly what happened to other people. This never happened to me again, and I forgot all about it until now. I just thought it was a freak thing at the time, but I wonder if the 2008 model also needs to be in the recall. I'm not feeling very safe right now, given that gm did not recall all affected cars in the past.
