2 Ignition Module problem of the 2000 Saturn SL

Failure Date: 12/10/2012

The contact owns a 2000 Saturn Sl. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and it was coasted to the emergency lane. The contact made several failed attempts to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The ignition switch, ignition control module and cylinder were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 141,000.

3 Ignition Module problem of the 2002 Saturn SL

Failure Date: 02/01/2009

The contact owns a 2002 Saturn Sl. Whenever the contact starts the vehicle, the ignition control module fails and the ignition will not start. She had new keys made, but this did not correct the issue. During the failure, the check engine indicator remains illuminated and will not dim. The failure has been occurring for over a year. The contact must wiggle the keys for at least fifteen to thirty minutes before the vehicle will start. The dealer has not been notified. The failure mileage was 120,000. Updated 3/19/09 the consumer also stated the engine idles very high. Over 4000 rpm/ updated 03/25/09.

4 Ignition Module problem of the 2001 Saturn SL

Failure Date: 04/05/2004

While driving 55 mph, the check engine light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The vehicle stalled. The driver was unable to restart. The driver had the vehicle towed to a mechanic the mechanic reset the computer system. The consumer discovered there was a recall on certain 2000-2003 l-series Saturns regarding the ignition control module, so the consumer contacted the manufacturer and was told the problem was not widespread. The consumer believed the problem he experienced with his car was stated in the recall.

5 Ignition Module problem of the 1999 Saturn SL

Failure Date: 10/31/2003

Saturn was leaking oil into the radiator expansion tank and water in the oil. Over heating really bad that the car will shut down and not start until cool, and it boils over in the radiator expansion tank. October '03 had head gaskets replaced, and the heads sent off for service, one month later, its back to leaking oil in the coolant and water in the oil. Oxygen sensor went out, and has been replaced and so did the ignition modular, which has been replaced.
