Saturn SL2 owners have reported 14 problems related to brake disc rotor (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle rotors are warped. The consumer stated the rotors warped so bad in 10,000 miles that the vehicle shook and vibrated. When maneuvering around a curve the vehicle was difficult to control.

Steering wheel shakes when braking, especially at higher speeds. The dealer reports this is due to warped rotors due to "external forces" and not a warranty problem. The car has 30,000 miles and less than 2 years old. Driven mostly highway to and from work, 35 miles one way each day. Seems more like a defective part or engineering.
While applying the brake pedal brakes failed. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Vehicle was taken to dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that rotors needed to be replaced, and replaced them four times. However, the problem recurred.
The front rotors have been replaced twice in 57000 miles. Something is wrong when this happens this often with this little amount of mileage.

The brake rotors warp easily, they are either insufficiently thick or cooled. Nlm.
Consumer took vehicle in for electrical problems & found that rotors were corroded on the inside. Dealer checked vehicle for inspection in June & said nothing to the consumer about rotor corrosion. Consumer will have to pay out of pocket. The mechanic stated that the rotors should not have been machined because it does not meet the required minimum thickness.

Front brake rotors started to warp at ~15000 miles. It should be noted that I mostly clutch-brake and those 15000 miles were not city traffic. The dealer quickly turned the rotors under at no charge to me, however I fear that they may fail again. I suggest that this may be a design issue.
Brake pads and rotors failed due to rust and corrosion.
