I purchased a 1999 Saturn Sl2 w/ 23,000mi. At 60,000mi I began to feel a judder/vibration from the steering wheel. I took it to a Saturn dealer and was told the rotors we're warped and needed to be replaced. I went to a repair shop and had non-oem brake rotors installed and after approxiametely 65,000mi, began to have the same problem. After leaving the car with the repair shop, they could not find anything wrong, but my rotors keep warping. The repair shop cut the rotors "slightly" and now at 70,000mi I still have the same problem. There is definietly wrong with the design of the brake system. I have been told that rotors do warp but they should last for approx. 70,000mi, and I should not be feeling the judder/vibration in my steering wheel.

According to diagrammed police report and personal photos taken (I can provide copies of all, Saturn skidded approximately 80 ft due to left, front brake locking at 35 mph. Vehicle started to turn to right just before impacting a suburban rearend. Saturn does not have abs; however, at 35 mph most vehicles will stop before 80 feet. Would like to know of other incidents.
While driving 45 mph applied brakes and pedal felt soft and spongy, no braking action. This happened 2 more times. No accident. Vehicle was taken to dealer, who did nothing more than look at the brake pads and said there was nothing wrong.
While driving braking system malfunctioned, causing no braking ability. Had to use emergency braking system in order to stop vehicle. Saturn said if the emergency brake was applied it would affect the braking system, and that was the reason why vehicle wouldn't stop. Please provide further information.

I purchased my car brand new in 1996. Since then, it has had numerous electrical problems all of which I am told if they can't find it they can't fix it. I stopped taking my car to them becasue that was what they told me - I have logged complaints to the Saturn customer service center online and they told me I can not have copies of those records - recently, I was left stranded again and when I took my car to the shop they told me I needed a new $3800. 00 engine, my husband went and got the car - it works fine!!!!!!!!! no new engine needed. When I sopke to the service manger and owner they said oops bda diagnosis - what id I had paid that money to have my engine repaired? they still say there isn't an electrical short in my car and if I want I can bring it up whenever the electrical guy is there next. I know several other people who have electrical problems with their Saturns and they have been told the same thing. I beleive they are hiding the fact that there is a defect in this car and by "not finding it" they don't have to fix it. This is a hazardous situation when your car dies for no reason while you are driving down the frreeway - or your brakes come on for no reason while you are moving, windshield wipers work when they want. . . . . . . - I am scared to drive my car.
