Key keep getting stuck in ignition switch and hard to take the key out the switch.
Stability bar / stabilizer bar broke on the passenger side. Upon going to the salvage yard we found in almost all the same vehicles were broke in the same area on the same passenger side.
I have automatic door locks. They lock after I shift out of park. I started to leave my yard the realized I forgot something in my home. Proceeded to park. Got the item and tried to put it in the drivers side back seat and the back door would not open either from out side nor the inside. So that is where it is to date. Car in my yard sitting still.
Key is sticking in ignition. Havw to giggle it to get it to turn and start up.
Lately I've been having an issue with my ignition switch. When the switch is in the on position, the key can be removed while driving. When it's in the off position, and I try to start it up, it is very difficult. I have to wiggle the steering wheel and key to get it to turn over. Yesterday, it took me over 3 hours to get it started. I went to get a copy made, and that still didn't work. I've noticed that the Saturn Vue's in the years 2002 through 2004 were recalled for the same issue, what about 2006 Saturn Vue's?.
The door latches are failing intermittently and the doors will not close. We have had to tie the back doors closed with rope to prevent them from opening while driving. I've seen a recall for this on the 2008 models, what about the 2006 models?.
Have been able to remove key when not in off position for years. Frightening tht this could happen also while driving. Also have had some scary incidents where the key would be stuck in the ignition. It took a lot of pulling and tugging and sweat to get it out. Why hasn't this been recalled for 2006 Vue's??!! this is extremely dangerous.
Bought a 2006 Saturn Vue in 2008. Within a year, had problems: ignition switch/key. Does not function as it should with the key turning in the ignition switch. Replaced tumbler. Worked for awhile. It broke again. For both times it takes anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes every time to get the key to turn the vehicle on in the ignition switch. I am a 60+ year old woman who works nights. If I have to leave an area quickly for my own safety, I cannot do so. The ac fan shuts off as soon as the exterior car temp reaches 100 degrees. Had that fixed two years ago. But the problems persisted. Now the ac only blows warm air when and if the fan works. Door locks: keys function inconsistently. Passenger side door does not allow me to lock all doors, which it once did. Fob: functions inconsistently despite battery replacement. Windows; do not close all the way, allowing rain and air in. Steering wheel: shakes. Had it fixed. Shakes again between 60-70 mph. I am fed up with this car. Will never buy another american made car.
Ignition switch is hard to turn, I have to turn the steering wheel to the left really hard to get the switch to turn the car on. This has been happen to me several times since I had the car since 2005. I thought that maybe there would be a recall on this problem and I would like to mention the shaking of the transmission and I did take it to the dealer because of the recall I received but it started back shortly afterwards the "so called repair was done. I noticed that the shaking, rattling and loud vibration from the transmission was when driving at a high speed and having to slow down to 40 or slower this is when it would happen and now it happens all the time. I have also noticed that when the motor is being turned off and on lately there is a sound of shaking and rattling like something is loose.
For no reason the front passenter door will not open. . . Power locks all work. . . Just the inside and outside door handles don't open the door.
When I try to start my vehicle I cannot turn the key in the ignition. . . I have to push up the gear shifter and then keep turning the steering wheel until the key can turn. I thought there was a recall for this but cannot find the information.
I have an ion and a Vue. My ion is in for the recall and I just had to have the same part replaced on the Vue. I was not able to even turn the key it just completely locked up on me. Luckily this happened before I even started going anywhere as I had my 3 children in the vehicle. So I went and got the new ignition, paid for the locksmith to match it too my key and now it is running again. I think you need to look closer at the other vehicles also as what was happening with my view was identical to what the ion was doing.
When trying to start the vehicle the key will not turn in the ignition. It started several months back where I would have to try to turn the key several times and it would finally turn and start. It is now completely locked up and the key will not turn at all in the ignition switch. My brother also owns a 2004 Vue, his was doing the same thing and he said that he had to have the ignition replaced.
On 5/26/14 that morning my car wouldn't start so I got jump start. Late that afternoon again it wouldn't start, but battery under warranty, so I got a new one. Driving home that evening, with kids in car, going through intersection car loses power! luckily we were not hit. I managed to start car repeatedly to get to the side of the road. On 5/27/14 car was taken to dealer and was there till 5/29/14 and I was told it is the ignition switch and need to pay $295. 00 since there is no recall. This is a very dangerous situation I was one light from entering the fwy home. I hate to think what could of happened at higher speeds. Please look into a recall.
The key will not turn to start the the car. You have to wiggle it and apply the right amount of torque to get it to turn and start the vehicle. I replaced the key from the dealership with the same negative results.
When ignition is locked and engine is off, you can move the gear shifter to any gear. Also while operating the vehicle the key can be removed.
This has happened numerous times before, car turns off within 1 to 2 seconds after starting. There is a TSB written for problem but dealer still can't fix it.
Last year my airbag light kept coming on and finally stayed on all the time. The sensor for the passenger seat does not work properly. It does not indicate if someone is in the seat or not. We took it to our mechanic and he advised that we would have to replace the entire seat ( I have heated seats). This is very costly and I cannot afford it. I am concerned that the airbag will not function properly when necessary. I am also concerned that if this is caused by a short somewhere, my heated seat may catch fire. I do not use the heat for this reason. Recently we are experiencing a key ignition problem. My husbands key, in particular, does not turn correctly. This is of concern to me because I am afraid that one day it will just lock up and not start. I do not want to be stranded on the road somewhere. I have been receiving messages from my onstar that there is a problem with the airbag. I hope these problems will be addressed by gm. I have seen similar complaints on this website and felt I should take action.
Within 6 months 3 of the four door latches on the vehicle have failed and would no longer latch. In the first two cases no problem other than the door latch mechanically failing has been found and the latch has had to be replaced. The third latch is intermittently failing and needs to be replaced. Given that they are all mechanical failings of a critical safety component and I can think of no easily explainable reason other than design I thought I should report it as a concern.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue with ignition and airbag sensing and diagnostic module (sdm) issues. I have checked online at the gm recall website, called my dealer twice and filed a claim at the gm recall hotline. I am frustrated with the lack of or slow response to this problem and I do not understand why our model year was left out of the recall cycle. My situation: my ignition became increasing tight/stiff/locked to where I could not turn my key or pull it out. I would have to shake the car or key to get it to turn on. My key can slide right out of the ignition while the car is running, (but sometimes I can't pull it out). I have also returned to my car and found it running twice now and noticed it was not totally in the off position anymore). At the same time my airbag indicator light became intermittent and finally stayed on. Our mechanic notified us that the airbag sensing and diagnotic module (sdm) is no longer working. A dangerous safety issue. The dealers say that parts are not currently available for my model and my mechanic can not find them either. The cost is ridiculously high! I have now been on a mission to put in complaints with the appropriate divisions in an effort to see this situation resolved. (note this website list several complaints similar to mine and others. . Bought a 2006 Saturn Vue in 2012. Within a year, had problems a couple of times with the key turning in the ignition switch. 2014: now it takes anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes every time to get the key to turn the vehicle on in the ignition switch. Air bags: the symbol for the air bag keeps appearing on the dash board often.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue with the same problem as the 2002 thru 2004 Vue recall. I can also remove the key from the ignition while the vehicle is in neutral, drive and park while running. I read one other complaint from another 2006 owner and it was exactly how my problem started, the key would get stuck and I was unable to start the vehicle nor remove the key from the ignition. Therefore I had to call a locksmith to rectify this situation and as far as today the key can still be removed from the ignition while not in the proper position. Lets see if the 2006 can be included within this recall.
My ignition won't let me turn my key easily, it has to be wiggled then it will then catch, so it's hard to turn my car on!.
When starting the car, the key will get stuck and not turn in the ignition. I have to keep jiggling the key multiple times to get it unstuck and turn. Turning the steering wheel does not help. It has been happening more and more frequently over the past year or so. More recently, when I turn the car off, the ignition gets stuck. When I take the key out, I can feel it does not register and release inside the switch. The car still dings when I open the door as if the key is still in the ignition. I have to put the key back in, jiggle it, and then take it out.
Several issues with 2006 Saturn Vue to report: - air bag light comes on virtually every time the car is started. There is no one in the passenger seat - ignition - key can be removed from ignition switch while motor is running - ignition - key is virtually impossible to turn unless it is cajoled repeatedly. Typical start up time is in excess of 5 minutes to find the "sweet spot". "sweet spot" tends to move on a daily basis. No particular technique works every time - ignition - key will become stuck in the ignition switch. Results in a two to five minute careful tug of war with the car in order to remove the key. Ignition switch had this problem before and was replaced (at owners expense of $214 dollars) and things were fine for approximately two years. Now the symptoms (see above) have returned. - power locks - unable to lock doors (any) with drivers side lock controls.
I bought the in June 15, 2011 two weeks later had a loud grinding noise the dealership fixed the problem which is right front wheel bearing then it was fixed 5 more times, the totaled of 6x. Now the center drive shaft support bearing is bad. Please I need your help on this matter. Thank you, amalia denesha.
My rear driver side door won't close when it's cold and as of June 2013, won't open. The latch mechanism has seized. I can hear the door unlock and lock but nothing happens. I've had a toddler in the car when it won't close and a toddler and an infant when it won't open. My research online shows that this is a frequent problem. There really needs to be a recall. Gm should have to pay the $250 to fix the door. They are putting my children in danger.
The ignition switch will not turn with the factory key to start the ignition. The key has to be jiggled, and/or removed and reinserted several times for this to start the vehicle.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated a failure with the vehicle ignition. The contact stated that the vehicles power system failed.
We bought a Saturn Vue in June of 2006. 2 months after we purchased the Vue we had to bring it in for exhaust and converter and oxidation replacement. Then 2 weeks later we had to have the ignition lock cylinders replaced we could not start our truck. Then in 07 we had the converter and manifold replaced. We were told that the manifold was torqued to much from the manufacture. Then June of this year same issue with the exhaust and converter again. Say the replaced a spring in the converter.
Original owner of this vehicle, still have it. The ignition wasn't right from the very beginning. I could remove the key from the ignition when the car was still running. There were issues with the alarm - it wouldn't go off despite the keys being in the ignition. I took the car in several times to get the ignition issue corrected. The issue we have now is the ignition won't respond to the key when it is inserted. Additionally, it is not releasing the key when we try to rmove it. Ridiculous- an otherwise great car and we have had 3 other Saturns and the ignition was always the only issue- ion, Vue and sc3.
Most times when I try to turn the key, the ignition get's stuck and will not turn. I have to jiggle and flip the key several times before I can get the key to turn. It's been replaced once while under warranty but has started doing it again about a year ago. At some point, I'm not going to be able to get the car started.
