The passenger rear door latch doesn't always keep door shut. It is an intermittent problem. Little unnerving tamaking a turn and the door fly's open. Until I get it to the shop for repairs it is strapped from the inside and duct taped on the outside. I have seen several complaints and wondering if there will be a recall for this.
Noticed radio screen was not fully illuminated & my seat belt warning 'chime' stopped working when belt was unfastened. Had this problem w/ another vehicle (1999 Acura integra) & it resulted in replacing the ignition cylinder. As a result, I started jiggling the Saturn key to see if there was improper/ inadequate circuit closure. When I jiggled the key, it was loose and came out, but the car remained running! since then I have experienced several similar incidents and the radio display still does not display fully across the screen and the seat belt chime still doesn't work. (approximately may 2013) I started having difficulties getting key to turn in ignition enabling the vehicle to start. I went to gm dealer to get a new key in case that might rectify the problem - it did not. Recently (August 2014) asked a non-gm mechanic about key turning difficulties. He indicated 'tumblers' gets 'sticky' & prevents key from turning & that it would get worse until I replaced ignition lock cylinder. I checked on-line for recalls, as so many gm vehicles were having problems with their ignitions and safety equipment. The 2006 Saturn Vue wasn't on the list. I went to local gm dealer (Buick/ GMC dealer in naperville, IL) in September 2014 & they confirmed the 2006 Vue was not covered under a recall. I went ahead and provided my VIN #, proof of ownership (title and drivers license) and they quoted a price of $90 for the ignition cylinder, $60. To obtain and use the gm code to program the new ignition lock cylinder, & this did not include a new key! they did they work & even included a key @ no additional cost. Now I am attempting replacement of ignition lock cylinder, but it requires key to be turned to the accessory position to remove the cylinder. I can't get key to turn, so can't replace cylinder and the car is not operable. I believe 2006 Saturn Vue should be recalled too.
I own a 2006 Saturn Vue awd in the 2 years I have owned the car here is a list of what has been replaced; 3 set of front brake rotors due to excessive warping to a point where they cant be turned which resulted in a shimmy of the steering wheel when the brakes are applied that keeping control was almost impossible. 2)rear wheel bearings at 25,000mi. 3) front strut mounts also at 25,000 mi. 4) pass seat air bag/seat heater module($907 one wont work without the other) 5) rear wiper motor6) windshield washer pump 6) gas tank vent valve solenoid switch (this makes the engine light com on) 7)3 yes 3 radios. 8) upper pass. Seat heater element.
Bought my 2006 Saturn Vue in July 2006 second day I noticed that the radio and onstar was very low with the volume turned up all the way. Took it back they replaced the radio. A few weeks later the radio went out completely they had to order a radio which took 5 weeks to get so I had no way of using onstar nor the radio dealership said it was a safety issue so they wouldn't put me in a loaner car. Got my Vue back 3 weeks later it went out again then came back on. They took it and reset it gave it back to me and it wont hold the time right and the volume doesn't work all the time now. The dealership told me that I was over working the radio and if I needed to buy me an after market radio that would be better for me and they wouldn't replace it again.
