When you try to stop sometimes pulling up to a redlight or stop sign its like the brake pedal doesnt want to mash down and it takes everything to mash it then it slams you on your head. Sometimes it stops fine but once out of every 10 times it keeps going. The car had 107399 miles on it when I bought it in September & the broker replaced the brakes he says. We found a reciept in the dash for having them bled so dont know if they were really replaced or not.

Every time I am driving the abs brakes will start engaging even though I'm not hitting the brakes. The abs and both traction lights come on. They also engage while I am trying to stop even though I am not on wet/icy roads. No one has been able to figure out the fix for this. We have checked and replaced everything.

tamara recall when coming to a stop, the brake pedal goes to the floor and sticks and when released the car darts away and makes it hard to stop. I have been in an accident because of this and have received two tickets because of the brakes .

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. While driving 60 mph, the brakes applied automatically without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (airport Chevrolet, 3001 biddle rd, medford, or 97504), but the failure could not be diagnosed due to lack of failure codes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 78,000.
1. The off light of passenger airbag is on 2. If take brake the steering wheel will be shake, changed new brakes, it is same.
When the car starts the steering locks up and makes the car difficult to drive. The brakes also grind and the transmission makes noises. The electrical components malfunction and lights and sounds flicker on and off. All of these things have been looked into by a mechanic and they cannot find a solution as to why the electric malfunctioning and steering is locking up.

First was the parking brake, after shopping in williamsburg mall we got back in the car and would not move, the parking brakes got stuck. Towed to mechanic and they released the brake so tha we could go back home, richmond. And told me not to engage the parking brake till a mechanic in my city will fix the problem. Today Dec 12 2016, the brakes started to lock while drivin home after taking my wife to work, within the city, I noticed that the pedal was getting harder, I did made home and I checked the wheels, all four, and the disks were very hot to the touch and the brak3s are locked, the car is about 58. 000 miles only. Any idea what is, I have to mention that 5/6 month ago I had problem with th abs, all lights concerning the brakes came on, traction and abs and others, it cost me around $300. 00 to fix that problem. Any knoledge of other people having these problems, is the manufacturer resonsible for these? also the power stearing fluid need to be filled every month, I notice oil on the driveway. Thank you carlo gangale and debra moore.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. While driving approximately 40 mph, the traction control indicator illuminated and the front brakes seized. The vehicle slowed down without depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 129,000.
I have lights on the instrument panel to indicate an issue with the braking system abs and stability response to my vehicle. The technician at ntb stated my wiring harness is corroded. To me this is not a normal thing to have general maintenance. There is no current recalls noted for this and something needs to be done. Although I can still brake the car.
While in motion the front brakes started to engage themselves. Vehicle did not want to move very well. Vehicle slowed down quickly when letting off the gas pedal came to a stop without pressing the brake. Pulled over and both front wheels were smoking.
August 2015 I was on my way home from work around 6:25pm on I-75 the engine started revving and rpm were high and truch felt like I was pushing gas and brake pedal at same time. Check engine light comes on. I thought the transmission was failing. Called onstar for a diagnostic and was told the code is p0340, continue to drive and if more issues take in to dealer. All of a sudden my speed went from 65 to 30 and even though I was flooring gas pedal it would go no more than 20-30 mph. I frantically, somehow was able to maneuver 5-6 lanes of traffic and pull over onto the shoulder. Needless to say I had to be towed. It was only by the grace of god that I was not hit nor caused someone else to have an accident on I-75 in busy atlanta. I was 50 miles away from home and had to get a ride home. After days of research and the repair shop diagnosing the vehicle according to the codes, I had to replace the catalytic converter hub 2.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle shook and lost power. The check engine, traction control, and anti lock brake system indicators illuminated. The vehicle was pulled into a parking space and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who replaced and reprogrammed the ecm. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure recurred after one and half years. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer where it was diagnosed. The dealer replaced the transmission solenoid control circuit and reprogrammed the transmission module. The failure mileage was 56,178.
Cars shakes at speeds above 50.
On freeway @65 mph, after 10-12 miles, sudden deceleration, attempted to accelerate, continued deceleration, no indicator lights. All 4 brakes applied without pedal movement. Pulled to side of rode. Turned off car, inspected tires and underside of car, nothing unusual. Parking brake cycled 2-3 times. Restarted car and drove another 10-15 miles, same unexplained braking, in moderate to severe traffic very frightening, dangerous (05/30/2015). Taken to dealer 2 times, still not repaired after replacing brake pressure modulator valve (bpmv -06/05/215) and the ebcm (07/22/2015 0900). And now a 3rd time. (7/22/2015 1600).
The breaks lock up and the car won't accelerate, the car eventually stops moving. The break petal gets extremely hot.
Our 2008 Saturn Vue xe recently started locking up the abs and brakes while driving. It happens in stop and go traffic and most frighteningly at freeway speeds. The vehicle will apply the brakes at will for no reason and the abs and traction control indicators come on. We have had the vehicle serviced multiple times and we have replaced all brake hardware and the issue still exists. We have done countless hours of research and have found that hundreds of Saturn, Chevrolet, and commodore vehicles exhibit the same issues and general motors dealerships do not even have an answer. The vehicle brake issues render the vehicle inoperable and cause immediate slowness and inability to maneuver on the freeway when it locks up. We cannot use the vehicle and have exhausted all resources and options trying to fix the issue. It cannot be traded in with these issues either. Can somebody investigate possible recalls or dealer solutions so we can feel safe driving. . . With or without our small children. Please help.
My wife is the primary driver of the vehicle and has been complaining that the vehicle feels sluggish like driving through quicksand and that the stabilitrak lights have been coming on every so often. Today I drove the Vue to work and in that 17 mile drive I experienced extreme shaking like a flat tire or an unbalanced rim. I got off the exit and examined the vehicle ensuring that no tires were flat and that no lug nuts were loose. I did notice that the rims felt extremely hot but seeing as I had driven on the highway, thought nothing of it. I called onstar to do a diagnosis and was informed that two tires were a little low. I continued to work and returned home with no incident. After work on the same day we were on our way to do some shopping and as soon as the vehicle was turned on, the 2 stabilitrak lights did not turn off. We called onstar and was told that there was an issue with the stabilitrak but not brakes and that it should be serviced within the next 7 days. I did some research online and saw that there are numerous complaints about this same issue with the dealers not knowing how to resolve it but charging consumers anyways. I am very concerned that this is going the same route as the ignition recall and is going to take more than a decade before the issue is addressed. I fear for my safety as well as that for my family.
Tamara recall , the key came out of the ignition while the car was on. We brought it to the dealership and the confirmed it but would not fix it or send us anywhere to get it fixed. Our abs went the 3rd week we had the car, the dealership refused to even look at it. The other recall made our tires only hold air for a few days at a time.

Can not turn on or off passenger side airbag using the button in above the radio and the light on the dashboard turns on every time I put something in the passenger seat. Even if it's a bottle of water my Vue is a v6 automatic with the Honda engine, but the transition between gears is not smooth at all it feels more like it's jerking into gear. When I put my car in park. I'm know one day I'm going to walk up to it and it won't be there because it will have rolled away. My Vue rolls back n forth in park on flat surfaces. So on a hill it's scarry. It rolls more than my old car that didn't even have anti lock breaks. And a lot of the time using the e-break dosnt help all that much.
I was driving down fm 1960 I saw white smoke coming from under the hood and through the vents. I turned off the air condition; then grey smoke start being visible from the under the hood. I came to a yellow light and tried to brake but the brakes did not work. When I was able to get the truck to stop, a cloud of black smoke came from the glove compartment and floor board areas. I exited the vehicle and about 30 seconds later the flames engulfed the truck.
Driving to maryland from charlotte nc. I was on the hwy going approx. 65. Car completely shut off, no noise, no warning. As the car slowed down, I coasted to the side of the hwy to a stop. Looked down at the gear shift, it was in drive. The ignition was in the on postion. I put on the break and put the car in park and shut off the ignition. Waiting a few seconds, I turned the key. The car started up and the chime went off. It was the chime that the car makes when you open the door and the keys are still in the igntion. ( a series of quick dings) I didnt open the door. All I did was start the car up. I continued, no problem. The same thing happened again on Saturday November 29th. 2014 on the highway going around the same speed. The car jerked slightly and shut off. This time it was at night. I coasted to the exit that was coming up. Had trouble sterring because the steering went out, head lights dimmed. Car slowly came to a stop at the top of the exit. Same situation. Ignition on, car in drive. I put my foot on the break and put the car in park and turned the ignition off. Turned the ignition back on. Car started up and the chime that goes off if you open up the door with the keys still in the ignition, went off again. The same as before.

I too am experiencing my brake pedal sticking, seems to drag at times, any ideas, help.
Hitting 2 deer going 60 miles an hour and the passenger air bag never opened. The red light for passenger airbag has been on since we purchased the vehicle. We also have problems with electrical being the dashboard lights always flicker and the left side lights and blinker do the same. We also have had problems with the ignition being the key will not turn over, we have to be very patient and after quite sometime it will finally work after you remove the key several times and try try again. We have had to have breaks done numerous times at least twice a year. I sure do not understand why this vehicle was not on the recall list.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the traction control and emergency brake warning indicators illuminated intermittently. The failure became permanent over a period of time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where both rear brakes were replaced. In addition, the rotors were resurfaced. The failure persisted after the repair was performed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they informed the contact that the failure could possibly be related to the brake pressure modulator valve. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.
When operating at any speed the vehicle will shut down and steering braking and all control is lost' this constantly happens.

I was driving north on road that was having some road repair on a rough section I lost all power no steering hard brakes . I have had this prob several times since, thank you.
At 24,000 miles this 2005 Saturn Vue needed the entire brake system replaced. Then when backing up and then putting the car in drive it would not speed up. I had to stop, put it in park, put it in drive again before it would move. This was at 28,300 miles, turns out the transmission went and had to be replaced. Now at 35,533 the drive shaft is rusted and center support is blown out. I asked Saturn what the life expectancy of this vehicle is and received no response. There were no accidents related to these failures because I realized something was wrong and took it in for service immediately. However, this vehicle has had more serious and costly repairs at 35,533 miles than vehicles with over 100,000 miles. Driving it is very stressful as I never know what will happen next.
I have had to replace wheel bearings, the brakes 2x in 2 years, gone through 2 sets of tires and now I have to replace the electric steering column.

The contact owns a 2009 Saturn Vue hybrid. The contact stated that the brake pedal would intermittently become stuck when depressed and the contact would have to forcibly dislodge the pedal with his foot. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer ten times and the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure each time. The contact stated that the failure would occur after driving for a period of time. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20,869 and the current mileage was 41,000.
The contact owns a 2003 Saturn Vue. The contact was driving 10 mph on a snow and ice covered road surface when he applied the brakes and the entire instrument panel illuminated. There was a complete loss of the power steering and brakes. The contact engaged the brakes several times before the vehicle stopped. When attempting to exit the front driver side door, the automatic door locks would not release. All of the interior door locks became inoperative. The contact was able to exit the front driver side door by applying excessive force with a hammer to the door lock mechanism. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where they informed him that the failure was related to a computerized system malfunction. The technician attempted to repair the vehicle but to no avail. The failure mileage was 172,000.
There is a terrible whole vehicle shudder a low speeds and low rpm. It seems like the transmission goes into "lock - up torque converter" mode at too low rpms(about 1000 to 1200). This happens constantly at low speeds and is very distressing and distracting. You have to step down harder on the accelerator to kick the transmission into a lower gear which tends to make the car speed up. This is very distressing and distracting and must cause undo wear and tear on the drivetrain. There are many Saturn Vue (2004) owners nation wide with this problem. This and the wheel bearing and brake problems should be nation wide recalls. No wonder people are buying imports at an incredible rate.
I own a 2006 Saturn Vue awd in the 2 years I have owned the car here is a list of what has been replaced; 3 set of front brake rotors due to excessive warping to a point where they cant be turned which resulted in a shimmy of the steering wheel when the brakes are applied that keeping control was almost impossible. 2)rear wheel bearings at 25,000mi. 3) front strut mounts also at 25,000 mi. 4) pass seat air bag/seat heater module($907 one wont work without the other) 5) rear wiper motor6) windshield washer pump 6) gas tank vent valve solenoid switch (this makes the engine light com on) 7)3 yes 3 radios. 8) upper pass. Seat heater element.
I bought this car April 23, and the following week I began to have problems. At 200 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the evap canister. But I was also experiencing problems with the automatic transmission trying to switch gears. The vehicle would hesitate when I pressed down on the gas and then it would redline and kick in to the next gear. But it would not stay constant. The vehicle would abruptly downshift on flat ground and on slight grades. The dealership said the problem was fixed, but as I drove off it happened again. I ended up having to schedule another appt for them to look at the vehicle. Then when they looked at it again they said the computer system in the vehicle wasn't working correctly so they said they fixed it. Well when I drove off about 25 miles down the road the problem occurred again. When I try to slow down the brake pedal would go to the floor. I have almost been in a few accidents because of this. The problem occurred at 30mph-60mph. It also rolls back when in the drive way or at a slight incline at a stop sign/light. This vehicle is not safe. Im schedule for another appt. Once again to try and resolve the problem.
Nov. 2007 car serviced, 35311 miles seemed to be fine. Noise began, serviced March 2008, recommended I needed new brakes but could not guarantee that would solve the problem. Noise continued, took it back to be serviced July 2008 and told that the struts and sway bars needed to be replaced along with the lift gate latch and that may not solve my problem. The vehicle is only driven on city streets and interstate highways. I have been in contact with Saturn customer service and they are not working with me to my satisfaction. The vehicle is a 2006 Saturn Vue. I cannot find out if there have been other Vue's with the same problem.
My Vue was purchased in 2004 and has been in for service several times. One of the issues I have is the front end shakes, sometimes it shakes so bad it scares me. I have brought it in for this to a dealer in denville and mount olive; both in NJ, and the first time I was told nothing was wrong. Last week I was told I need new front brakes and new tires. The truck is less than two years old, new brakes new tires ??? that doesn't make since. The guys at the service never took it for a spin, I'm approaching 36k miles and I'm scared once I pass the warranty time I will be out of luck. I'm not satisfied at all and want something done about this. My wife thinks the car is falling apart, it shakes and makes weird sounds. The first year I was raving about this car now I tell people to stay away from Saturn. Help me change my opinion on Saturn by getting my car fixed !.
