The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Ascent. The contact stated they noticed the vehicle battery would drain overnight and the vehicle would have to be jump started. The failure was intermittent at first and had become constant. The contact stated that when the vehicle had been purchased the dealer had to install a new battery. The contact stated the only indicator light would be the "battery" light when the battery had drained. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to have the vehicle diagnosed, and the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

2 12v/24v/48v Battery problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2021

The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Ascent. The contact stated that the battery was completely drained and the vehicle could not be started. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery had drained and that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure reoccurred. The failure recurred three times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

3 12v/24v/48v Battery problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2020

The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Ascent. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked inside of the garage, the vehicle failed to start. The contact asked her son to jump start the vehicle. The contac's son jumped the battery and the vehicle resume normal operation. The contact stated that the failure occurred twice prior to the vehicle being diagnosed at white bear Subaru. The contact started the vehicle and drove to white bear Subaru (3505 highway 61 n, vadnais heights, mn 55110) where the vehicle was diagnosed and it was determined that the battery was defective. The battery was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
