Air conditioning condenser does not operate properly due to a problem with wiring in the clutch, as acknowledged by Subaru. Blows cool air only sometimes, because the condenser does not function properly. Every condenser before a certain date is destined to fail, leaving the driver to pay for an expensive repair despite the fact that Subaru has acknowledged this issue is due to bad wiring and has corrected it. Per NHTSA id number 10120975.

The vehicle had an electric mirror where the back casing was broken. We went to the dealer where we were told it was a cosmetic issue only and they ordered a mirror for us. We left and the vehicle caught on fire while sitting in a driveway turned off. The insurance inspector is saying the fire started in the wiring in the door. The mirror operated 100% without issues, it appears moisture from rain got into the mirror wires which may have caused the fire.

There have been several times that the car will not lock due to a type of trip or wiring with the locking system. While the car is turned off and stationary, right before locking the door, there is a clicking sound and the driver's side door light flashes. The driver's side door is closed, even if the electrical system acts like it is trying to close the door. This prevents the car from locking, due to some type of trip in the door sensor. It might be a trip between the karr alarm system and the door sensor installed in the car. I've attempted to repair or resolve this since I bought the car and it is has yet to be repaired.

The contact owns a 2014 Subaru Forester. I'm writing every office I can think of. This is about the automobile industries decision to put soy in the plastic of all makes and model cars after 2012. Who ever the genius is that thought this would be a good idea should start paying for all the damage the rats are doing to the wiring systems, wiring harness and fuel lines. I bought a 2015 Subaru forrester in June of 2015. By sept. I had my first of 7 visits to the dealer to repair the damage done by rats. I understand rats have been chewing on wiring ever since cars were invented. But the rats have never chewed on the fuel lines because they use to be made of steel belted cable covered in thick rubber. Now, your fuel lines resemble plastic drinking straws. I've had my fuel lines replaced 3 times, my wiring harness 2 times and I've had a litter of new born rats born in a nest made on the drivers side door hinge! I've put out every rat or mice trap know to man but the rats go right around it and get into the fuel line box. I understand the reasoning behind the soy plastic. More economical, more lightweight and cost less to use. That's fine but you should pay for my damage. You see what's happened??? we, the consumers are stuck with your bright idea. We have to pay for it. This is not fair and I'm angry. I can't sell my Subaru and buy a Toyota or Ford or Nissan because they all are using soy. There are hundreds of class action lawsuits against every maker. Something has to be done. Someone has to pressure the car makers to do the right thing and come up with a solution. Honda at least has recognized the problem and come out with rat tape soaked in capsaicin. I bought this to wrap around my fuel lines. Why should I have to pay 40 to 50 dollars a roll when it's not my fault? I also spray my engine and top of tires with coyote urine. Rat problem started in 2015 and still going on to this day.
All the lights on the dash came on at once . The non skid, check engine , cruise lights wouldn't go off . I took it to the Subaru dealership and they made out like it was nothing . I took it 3 different times they ended up charging me $500 dollars and never fixed anything. In a months time they came back on. I've had them turned off several times for them to come back on in 2 days time. I just recently put it back in the garage and was told the scanner found various codes. They cleared all codes , but code p0057 kept coming back for communication between antilock brakes and ecm. Possible cause- wiring, abs module,or ecm.

While vehicle was parked outside, noticed side lights were on, car was not on. After entering the vehicle noticed a smell of burned plastic. Tried multiple ways to shut off the side lights, couldn't do it. Finally traced the smell of the burning plastic to the rear of the vehicle, by the lift gate, by the spare tire. The electrical cable that connects the vehicle to the trailer hitch wiring harness was burning and smoking. Disconnected it and the power failure stopped, by then the wiring harness had melted and wires burnt. Took photos of the wiring to show it, problem seems to be with the condensation in the area and moisture caused a short in the harness. Without intervening car could have caught fire and burnt down.

I arrived at my house on 8/26/2012 at 8:00 pm, parked my car in the garage of my house and went to sleep. At 2:00 am I heard an explosion, went outside of my house to verify what it was and found my Forester in fire. With the help of my neighbors we control the fire within an hour. Serious consequences came out of the fire; the car was declared total loss, another car parked in front of the Forester suffer a lot of damage, the motor of the garage door had to be replaced, the paint of the house, vertical blinds and other belongings of the house were replaced because of the smoke from the fire. Subaru/-forester/2006 recall no. Wvc-13 related to the wiring harness for the airbag occupant detection system in the front passenger seat may have been pinched during production. Pinching of the wiring harness between the floor crossmember and the seat mounting bracket could result in a short circuit. That could cause a fire. The way that my car got in fire has to be because of an electrical. Short circuit, having as a result the fire and total loss of my car. The VIN of my car was not included in the recall, but I will appreciate if your agency could do an investigation that as a result have the VIN of my car included in the recall wvc-13.
The contact owns a 2007 Subaru Forester. The contact was sitting in park with the air conditioner activated. The air conditioner shut off independently. The contact attempted to restart the air conditioning unit but to no avail. The vehicle was taken to her independent mechanic where she was advised that the wiring harness was melted. The mechanic cut the wires and reconnected the wiring harness with an after market part. On a later date, the defroster failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the wires had overheated and fractured from the vehicle. The dealer was able to reapply the wires but advised the contact that the entire wiring harness would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 57,000.
