1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2024 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 03/13/2026

My entire dash went out. Nothing worked. This car has only 3500 miles on it. I got danger signs and it said to stop driving the car. Danger. I also got messages in my e-mail I think from starlink to stop driving the car and bring it in to service. It was dangerous. Service had it for two weeks. They didn't know what to do. They asked if I did something with wires. I'm a [xxx] woman and4'10". What a question. Then some guy at Subaru said "they'll probably have to put a whole new dash in. Days later I called again. Another guy said they had to call all over America to try and find the part. No one to my knowledge has inspected this. I am working with Subaru customer care. I don't want this car. I do not feel safe in it. For something so new these emergency problems should not be happening. I want a cash back or give me another car. They had it for two weeks and gave me no explanation what happened. It is not a safe car. I hope customer care will help me. Someone has to. I don't want this car. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2020 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

Reference complaint no. 11684658 confirmed. From email from tech representative "vdc hydraulic unit replacement. It is an internal failure of the abs control unit. There are sensors inside that measure brake line pressure. The left front sensor is stuck at negative 59 bar. Should be zero at rest. Nothing to do with eyesight that light will come on whenever there is a warning light on. " the modulator is a safety critical component which undergoes extensive life time testing, one out of 4 pressure sensors should not fail during vehicle life time.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2020 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

The eye sight warning system is activated occasionally and vdc is cut off. The dealer diagnosed code c1742, and recommended replacing the control unit due to a pressure sensor issue after measurement. The units are on back order, which indicates to me a wider spread problem. Vdc units should not fail even after 10 years.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2019 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 01/11/2025

Three engine check lights due to rodent damage within two weeks, even when I first bought the car in south florida it had damage due to rodents and that when I first found out they use soy for the wires, I had thought the dealership I got it from had replaced it all but no. Fast forward 2-3 years later in a different state I had gotten the first engine check light and thought it was due to bad repairs from the place I bought it from, I had thought after the first repair they got rid of the soy wiring since it was expensive but then I happened a second time 140 miles after I fixed the first one. It was then on that I realized these were recent damage and not old so I decided to buy some things to deter rodents since it’s cold now. And now comes to the third time it gets damaged after snowing and melting a little. I haven’t even driven more than 10 miles and I already have to spend more on repairs. I might even have to get rid of the car altogether if this keeps happening. This damage means cruise control is off due to the car now being in a safe mode and also it cannot tell how hot or cold it is so overall running of the car is gonna be worse off. I’ve put noise/ light devices in the engine bay and also mint pouches made to deter mice and such and still had issues.
