Crack in tire sidewall. No exterior damage. Tire guy said problem in manufacture.
We were driving on highway 14 at about 9 pm when we heard (and felt) a loud bang and then felt the noticeable bumpiness of a flat tire. We pulled over to the side to find the front passenger side tire flat, which we proceeded to change with the spare that was supplied with the car. The car is a 2007 Subaru Impreza and is actually a loaner from the dealer since my car is in the shop, being repaired for the same problem for the 8th time in 2 years (separate complaint). Upon inspecting the tire the next day, it's evident that it is a blowout as it has a 4 inch slit in the sidewall and there was nothing in the road that we drove over. I have not had the tire replaced yet but the dealer is asserting that I am responsible for the tire, even though it's not my car. They did, however, offer to sell me the tire at their cost with free installation. I plan on keeping the tire when I do get it replaced, since I'm paying for it. I will be contacting bridgestone headquarters and Subaru headquarters in new jersey about this incident. Tire is a bridgestone potenza re 92a, size p205/55r16 89v dot em8k jll2407.

Bad tire this letter was sent to bridgestone tire company on 8/07/2007 and made calls to the company on Aug 7,8 2007 consumer affairs at 1-800-367-3872 in chicago,IL. I had talk with a representative and was given a case #1097787,and then talk with another representative on Aug 8. The second representative called the store in terrell texas. My son has a new 2007 Subaru Impreza with bridgestone tires. The car is only 3 months old and has less than 5000 miles on the car. One of the tires has a bubble on the side wall. He went to a service center and was told to take the car back to the auto dealer. Firestone dealer don't want to adjust the tire. Dealer are just giving my son the run around. You guys need to replace bubble tire with a new tire. It's not the dealer responsibility to adjust the tire! it is the tire manufacturer responsibility. Tire dealers are just trying to pass the buck. I want that tire replace. Psi: I want this tire taken care of ASAP before the tire blows out and causes an accident. Bridgestone will be held responsible for any accident!!!!!contract me or my son Wednesday 8/8/2007. My next step is to go to the media. They would just have a field day with tires that have bubbles on the side wall. Just think about a few years ago.

Driving along the freeway at 60 mph, the left rear tire had a blowout. Upon inspection it was the interior sidewall where the failure occurred. I noticed that in the specific location of the failure, the sidewall was extremely soft; unlike the rest of the sidewall. The tire was taken back to costco; but they refused to accept that it was a defective tire. The tire had 25,000 miles on it; driven conservatively. I do still have the failed tire, and two other tires just like it are still on the car. The tire is a bridgestone potenza 205/55r16 91w, ultra high performance.

Vehicle is a Subaru Impreza 2002 equipt with bridgestone potenza re92 16"tires. His week at approximately 10,500 miles 2 of these tires developed a pinhole leak in the center of the sidewall approximately a week apart. The leak was so tiny that it was hard to find. A call to a major bridgestone distributor about this problem was not productive. They said they have no record of such a problem. I have never seen this in any previous tires that I have used. Can you shed any light on this subject?? thought it strange that 2 different tires of the same brand would have the same defect about a week apart. Thank you.
