1 Air Bag problem of the 2023 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 01/08/2026

I was heading to work on a stretch of road. I was traveling at about 45-50mph. A car pulled out in front of me and we had an accident. The airbags in the older Subaru of the person who collided with me went off and mine did not. Surprisingly. My head was slammed against the b pillar and a small bruise on my leg. Insurance is saying my car is totaled. With an accident of that magnitude, my air bags should have deployed. If I was going any faster, I most likely wouldn't be here typing this message. This is a serious concern of mine. I have 0 interest getting back into another Subaru which consumer reports quotes as being the safest, most reliable brand.

2 Air Bag problem of the 2017 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Hit a deer. Airbags did not deploy, however I have reasonable suspicion to believe my head hit the a pillar during impact.

3 Air Bag problem of the 2017 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 11/05/2025

Going about 55mph, I struck a deer head on. It struck towards the center, but more so on the passenger side. During the impact, no airbags deployed, however, based off iihs videos, it seems likely that they should have. Additionally, I have reasonable suspicion to believe I hit my head on the pillar of the door, which would have been unlikely if the airbags deployed.

4 Air Bag problem of the 2019 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 07/09/2024

Mid-drive the airbag (srs) light came on indicating here was a fault in the system. After some diagnostic testing it was determined that there was a fault in the occupant detection system causing the vehicle to not activate the airbag regardless of the fact that someone was sitting in the seat. The issue was present in same type of seats (heated) that were previously recalled shortly before this vehicle was produced.

6 Air Bag problem of the 2017 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 12/18/2022

Unknown. Was hit very hard, approximately at 70mph, on rear passenger corner of car, hit caused my vehicle to slide and hit the guardrail on front end of vehicle, and no airbags deployed at any point in collision. Airbags are intact. I have included close up pictures of the airbag crash sensors on the front of the vehicle if they are of any use.

7 Air Bag problem of the 2015 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 04/01/2020

The engine blew up around 75k miles, it had blown a rod barring even though the car had been maintained. The clutch prematurly went out causing me to have to replace everything but the flywheel at under 75k miles. The clockspring is bad in the car affecting the horn and air bags. Having to get that replaced as well. The car is currently at a dealership getting everything resolved other than the clutch as thats already been replaced. My safely and others safely were at risk as if the clutch went out while driving, my horn would not work, my airbag light was on flashing and possibly wouldn't deploy in an accident and the engine blowing up due to a thrown rod barring put me at risk as it was on the freeway this happened. You can get all this info on mileage and what has been replaced. This has cost me thousands upon thousands of dollars to fix in the car when none of it should of happened.

8 Air Bag problem of the 2004 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

Takata recall/Subaru recall campaign wqr-53 NHTSA recall no. 15v-323 received a recall notice in may 2015 explaining that the airbag was recalled and would need to be replaced. Letter states that until the repair is preformed, do not allow passengers to ride in the front passenger seat. I recently received another letter with the same information stating that when Subaru acquires a sufficient supply of parts to perform the repair, they will contact me about making an appointment. I called Subaru 6 months ago and was told that a dealership should "lend" me a vehicle until the repair is complete. I left several messages with dealerships in the area and no one returned my phone call. It has been over a year and I am not able to have passengers in my vehicle. I use my car for work and I need this fixed. It is not safe to drive this vehicle and I do not want to have my children in the car until it is fixed.
