2 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2016 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 05/25/2018

After leaving work and driving less than one mile, the vehicle's engine stalled while approaching a controlled intersection. The vehicle had to be placed into park and restarted. The ambient temperature was 80 degrees; most auxiliary systems were not in use at the time the incident occurred except for the radio. The vehicle was not being operated in its optional "paddle shifter" mode--it was in the standard automatic transmission setting. The vehicle is currently being assessed at a dealership, although preliminary diagnosis from a dealership representative indicates there is "nothing wrong. " however, a simple google search of "2015+ Subaru wrx cvt stalling" yields a number of other vehicles that have experienced the same issue--the vehicle stalling while at low speeds. Some of the other owners have indicated they have paid for the replacement of oil control valves from their own pocket to resolve the issue. Since the vehicle is prone to stalling, this creates a significant safety issue for wrx operates as well as other motorists.

3 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2002 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 04/06/2014

Working night shifts, started my car to let warm up, temperature was 43 degrees fahrenheit at the time. After start up I could smell raw fuel out side the car as well as inside the car through the vents. Also gas milage has gone down by drastically, normally get 300-330 miles a tank and currently getting barley 200. Noticed car starting to smoke a little as well from under the hood, no fire but not going to keep driving the car.

4 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2005 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 01/07/2014

When I started my car the other morning (~14 degrees f) I smelled a strong fuel odor in the cabin. I opened the hood of the car and also smelled it there as well. I drove the car about 2 miles and the smell went away. Once stopped and idling, the odor returned. It is a very strong raw gasoline smell. Upon further research, I found that many other Subaru owners are experiencing the same exact issue. It turns out to be a faulty clamp and/or hose, which results in leaking gasoline out of the fuel line. This concerns me for numerous reasons, but the main reason is that it is leaking gasoline in the engine bay, which could result in a fire and ultimately injury/death. The smell it produces in the cabin is also something that concerns me, especially if children are in the car. This only happens when temperatures are very cold, probably below 20 or 25 degrees f. Please look into this issue and you will find many are experiencing the same thing with their vehicles. Thanks.

5 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2004 Subaru Impreza Wrx

Failure Date: 12/17/2013

When I start my car when it is cold out 20 degrees or below my gas line near the fuel rail leaks on the passenger side of the engine until the car warms up. It leaks a little up to enough to pool on the engine. . It worries me because it is on the turbo side of the engine with the exhaust which temperatures can reach up to 1500 degrees. The car could easily catch fire. It is a known problem in Subaru Impreza Wrx models 02-05 and has been brought to Subarus attention multiple times.
