Ignition Problems of Subaru Legacy

The contact owns a 2017 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated while removing the key out the ignition the key would not come out, the contact stated he had to restart the vehicle and placed into reverse and then placed it back to park and there he was able to remove the key. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but he did not diagnose the vehicle, but he stated that sometime the key may rust. The manufacturer was not contact. The failure mileage was 68,000.

Have had intermittent difficulty with starting vehicle between 03/2002 & 05/2002. When starting the vehicle on cool morning and occasional afternoons, it doesn't start. The radio, gauges function but the engine doesn't engage. There is a clicking sound and a partial turning of the engine. After 4-8 attempts, vehicle starts and functions normally. The vehicle was examined by the local service center when problem first occurred, but was unable to repeat it. Contacted manufacturer who contacted local service center and center offered to repeat exam. Currently, vehicle in service center's possession but problem has not reoccurred for them. Unable to diagnose vehicle problem. This is an annoying situation when one has to rely on private auto for transportation to school and work.

Request for reimbursement regarding the repair of the 1996 Subaru Legacy driver's side front spring. During a routine inspection, it was discovered that the spring on the left front of the consumers vehicle had failed for the second time. When the original spring failed the first time, it caused damaged to the tire and the spare tire. The ignition wire were worn, the headlight bulb was replaced.

Electrical short, when driving vehicle completely lost of power, had to pull off highway and restart.

Ignitor failed, causing intermittent stalling.

Igniter failed, causing unburned gasoline to flow into catalytic converter.

Vehicle stalls out at any speed, dealer can not locate the problem. Tt.

The vehicle will shut off at speeds of 30 to 35 mph for no apparent reason. Since everything is powered the brakes and steering no longer operate and the car cannot get off the road.
