Wheel Rim Problems of Subaru Legacy

Right front wheel broke. Cast wheel. Found tire and rim 30 feet ahead of vehicle after crash due to loss of control. Vehicle spun, entered culvert facing opposite direction and impacted tree causing it to roll twice. Vehicle totaled. Geice insurance has possession of vehicle but will leave intact for another 30 days. Have pictures, broken rim and part of spoke. We've purchased a Subaru forrester with Subaru giving us a customer loyalty rebate. There is little doubt in our minds that this casting was defective and may cause many more serious accidents with death or injury. We we're frankly lucky. . Read more...

Travelling on a clear day on a well-maintained secondary road. Hit a softball-sized rock with the right front wheel. Immediately unable to steer vehicle; stopping difficult as car pulled strongly to the right. Tire intact. Rim circumferentially sheared. Outer third of the rim remained attached to the axle; inner two thirds plus tire disconnected and freely floating on the axle. No information has been supplied by the company regarding whether the rim functioned as expected or was defective.

Engine was knocking and making a ticking noise, brakes were making a squeak/ loud noise, dealership is aware of problem. Consumer stated that the vehicle pulls to the right and steering wheel wobbles, also rim was replaced due to it being bent.

Defect within vehicle is causing the front of vehicle to shake, including steering wheel when vehicle is being driven at least 58-68 mph. Also pulls to right. Dealer also changed transmission bracket and angle of driveshaft, and put in new wheels and rims. Vehicle is still shaking.
