3 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

I bought my 07 Suzuki Grand Vitara in 2008. Since I have owned this vehicle I have had to replace the low beam headlights about every 3-4 months. The lights even after being replaced will flicker and turn off. I have to open the hood and wiggle the light to come back on. The connectors on the headlights have become overheated and mealted. Once while driving I smelled smoke, after opening the hood I realized it was the headlight. I have been pulled over several times because my headlight(s) have turned off while driving. I have had to drive multiple times with the high beams. Also the low beam headlights are so dim I can barely see a yard infront of my vehicle while driving. These are all serious safety hazards and even life threatening if the headlights were to catch fire.

4 Headlights problem of the 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 03/09/2016

I have had to replace my headlight bulbs so many times over the last five years, I have lost count. Now I am being told even though my mechanic replaced the bulb again, that I should replace both headlight assemblies at a cost of $240 each to solve this problem. I have seen so many complaints about headlight bulbs for many model year Grand Vitaras. I think Suzuki should recall the 2007-2011 Grand Vitara headlights for the safety of their customers and overall customer goodwill.

7 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 01/14/2015

I have two issues, and have had these issues since buying the car about 3 years ago, when running the car cold the breaks do not depress the first time I break, it takes alot of force to get the car to stop, if it is warmed up for 15 min or so it will not have the issue, but figures it should be addressed. My other issue is the headlights, they burn out constantly, I change then ever 2 or so months alternating between drivers side and passanger side.

8 Headlights problem of the 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/26/2014

Both low beam headlights failed while driving at night.

9 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 11/07/2014

The headlights are burning out prematurely every 4-6 months. This is expensive and potentially dangerous if I do not notice immediately when they blow out, especially if both go at the same time. From what I understand, I am not the only one with this problem and this has been something that many Grand Vitara owners like myself have been dealing with.

10 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

I have had a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara for the past 5 years in that time I can not even begin to tell you the countless I've had to replace the bulbs in the headlights. Its obvious from what I've read that this is on going issue with this type of make and model car. Its obvious the part is defective and there should be a recall issued to replace these headlights all together.

11 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 09/03/2013

The low beam headlights in our Suzuki Grand Vitara went out completely. I have had problems before with a single bulb burning out which I replaced. They are burning out much more rapidly now and becoming a constant problem of having to replace the low beam headlights. Now, both low beam headlights stopped working the other day as we were driving back at night which forced me to use my high beam headlights to get home safely. I have researched online and have seen that this is a common problem many Suzuki owners are having but Suzuki is refusing to acknowledge it and put out a recall on the issue.

12 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 07/04/2013

Have had to replace headlights numerous times due to them burning out. Have checked socket connection and found that there the plastic surrounding the metal clip is melting. Contacted the dealer and they said no recall has been issued but they will replaced for price. Then contacted Suzuki spoke to a very rude women who looked up Grand Vitara and said they have not received any complaints about headlight problem and when I said that there were online complaints she said do not belive what is online.

13 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 06/19/2013

My headlight has blown out 3 times within 6 months. I have replaced them but now I tried to replace my headlight and it won't work, my headlight doesn't even come on. I am thinking its the wiring and I looked online and I seen that multiple people have had this same problem. It is crazy because I shouldn't have to replace my headlight that many times in a year. I contacted Suzuki and they said they can't help me without making me pay the amount, I shouldn't have to pay for this parts and labor when they are aware of this problem because they said they have heard that before.

14 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 10/07/2012

I have been having issues with my low beam headlight not working. I have had to replaced the light bulbs every 3-4 months for the past year. The first couple of times I was told the person installing the light bulbs were not doing it properly and that was the issue. Recently, I have been advised that the adapter is the issue and because it has the electric wires connected to it I have to pay for electrical work. To save money I thought I could buy the part myself but, after going to 4 different auto stores who did not have the part I was forced to come online. This is when I discovered that I'm not the only one with this issue. I think Suzuki should place a recall on this issue.

15 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 06/14/2012

I have just entered the mileage of the last time this problem happened. My 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara keeps blowing the headlamp bulbs. I have replaced it more than 10 times which is obviously abnormal since most of the cars uses the same bulb even for years. As I can see in internet forums this is a common problem between Suzuki owners and Suzuki has done nothing to correct this problem. I consider this a safety issue. Please help.

16 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 05/18/2012

I see that you have recalls on some vehicles for the daytime headlights over heating. It is also happening on the 07 Suzuki Grand Vitara. I have to replace my headlights at least once a year from the over heating issue and it also has a rubber burning smell. If my vehicle is recalled how do I go about getting it fixed if I havent even got called for even the past recalls on my vehicle like the airbag reccall. . . Please inform me on how to do so.

17 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

We have had severe headlight issues with this 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara since we purchased it. The wiring harness for the headlights continue to melt even after being replaced 3 times! the dealership or Suzuki motors have been of any help and offer zero assistance with the problem. A quick search online of Grand Vitara headlight issues will get thousands of results. I am confident that Suzuki is well aware of this issue, but simply refuses to issue a recall notice because it will cost them many millions of dollars in repairs. My headlight caught fire driving down the interstate and I could have been killed due to their faulty equipment. This is a problem that a gov't agency needs to make Suzuki fix. This could cause accidents and could be fatal if headlights are bursting in to flames. I suggest anyone who has headlight harness sockets that are melting. . . Not drive the vehicle! it can and will catch on fire!!!.

21 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/27/2010

Low beam headlights have been replaced 6 times now (on driver's side) and 5 times on passenger side. No other bulbs have had to be replaced, and I run with my foglights on, as I drive to work on graveyard shift. This has been ongoing and reoccurring since I bought the vehicle. Apparently the h7 bulb is the weakest bulb out there.

22 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/22/2010

Both low beam headlights blow out frequently at the same time.

23 Headlights problem of the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 07/17/2010

The head lights keep going off every 4 to 6 months. There's been numerous complaints from other owners on repairpal. Com about the same thing and Suzuki has not wanted to recognize that there is a problem. This is partially what they have posted "we understand the concerns you have raised in your message and we want to inform you that there is no known issues with the headlight assembly". Yet everyone's complaints about the headlights going off every 4 to 6 months is a fact. I tried replacing the entire head light assembly before I knew there is actually a problem with it and it's still doing it months later. It's getting very expensive for everyone and myself to be replacing headlight bulbs every couple of months that should be lasting years.

24 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

25 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/16/2009

The low beam headlights both driver and passenger keep blowing have had to replace atleast 10 times now. I carry extra to be safe and this is getting very expensive.

26 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/15/2009

Low beam headlight burned out. I've had to replace driver and passenger side headlight bulbs 8 (driver), 6 (passenger). Also, cannot see far enough ahead when only using low beam. This is a hazard! tired of replacing bulbs every 6 months. They aren't cheap.

27 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 12/09/2009

Had to constantly replace drivers side low beam headlight 6 times since I have owned this vehicle. Now both driver and passenger side do not work, bulbs are not blown, and fuses are fine. My mechanic says that it is a known problem that Suzuki refuses to acknowledge. I should not have upwards of $1200. 00 out of pocket for a known problem. I still have 2 payments to go and I bought this brand new. Something needs to be done now befoe someone gets killed because of this. Thats if it hasnt happened already.

28 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 11/01/2009

I have been replacing the headlight bulbs in my vehicle nearly every 6 months since I purchased it. Last year I replaced the rt headlamp assembly unit at the recommendation of the service department because the housing unit was burned and would not seat properly into the adapter. Replacing the adapter was not an option, so I incurred labor and parts expenses. Now in the shorter daylight fall season, the left bulb has blown and the adapter was beginning to burn, so I replaced it. I inspected it to confirm the state of the unit and it was indeed, on its way to electrical malfunction. There is no way, when driving nor idle, to know that such an important component of the vehicle is decaying. I have purchased hl7 55watt bulbs, which are the lowest watts available. I feel unsafe during inclimate weather, fall and winter season driving. This frequent need for replacement to avoid potential crashes is of major concern to me.

29 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 08/10/2009

Just as thousands of others have said. My 2008 Grand Vitara low beam h7 style headlights blow out constantly. Very unsafe to nearly crash when both blow at the same time driving at night. Very unsafe driving and at any given time a headlight will blow out. Not to mention telling various police over and over the problem. Not to mention tickets, warnings, and general disdain from police because they assume your lying. I now have to keep nitrite gloves and spares in my glove box and now show the police. I replace a low beam bulb on either side every 3 to 4 months. I've never heard of this as a safe and acceptable design on any motor vehicle. This would not pass as safe on anything. We the customers need this fixed. Had I known this in 2008 I would have bought something else. As of now I cannot afford to replace it. I hate having to try my best to be home before dark because a bulb is or will go out. Recall this defect now. . . . Before someone dies from a crash. When my lights blew at the same time that night I was scared to death and almost wrecked. This is not acceptable. Please help.

30 Headlights problem of the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 06/10/2009

When I first bought the 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara, I noticed that the low beam headlights were so low that I could not see the road. I literally cannot see the road because they are so dim-they keep blowing out and needing to be replaced as well. I have to drive with my high beam lights on at night because I am afraid I will hit someone or something. I am blinded by on coming traffic if I drive with these on. This is a great safety hazard-these lights should be recalled before someone gets killed. I got my sixteen y/o daughter this car and I refuse to let her drive it- I drive it. Been to dealership many times-still not any better. Please help.

32 Headlights problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 02/02/2009

The headlights have intermittently gone out since 2009. I replaced the bulbs twice before I realized the bulbs were good, but the socket was bad. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. They have also gotten extremely dim. My husband was following behind me at night in our Suzuki and I had to tell him to turn on his high beams because one headlight was out and the other was barely visible. The high beams weren't as bright as high beams should be. It simply looked as if he had high intensity bulbs or hid bulbs.
