1 Power Train problem of the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 02/05/2020

My most recent inconvenience with my Suzuki recall tensioner was on 2/5/2020, I was driving on a busy highway in the rain when my vehicle's belt tensioner and drive belt came off of the recall tension adjuster pulley. I could not turn my vehicle, the alternator light was on, and engine light was on. I have been trying to get all of my recall parts for my Suzuki Grand Vitara repaired since may 2019. Royal Nissan baton rouge, is the company responsible for repairing Suzuki's recalls, but they have failed to honor its warranty policy causing me to spend over $500 in repairs that should have been repaired. The belt has slipped on three separate occasions , I had no other choice but to pay for a new belt tensioner because my life was at risk. The company held responsible for out of pocket expenses and recall parts that are still incomplete is royal Nissan baton rouge, I spoke with a representative by the name of nathan.

5 Power Train problem of the 2013 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 03/10/2017

Got a letter about a recall on the trans. Shifter shaft. It said parts are now available so I called my local service provider at 828-485-0002 -this was 6 1/2 weeks ago and was told they didn't have the parts yet and would call me when they got them. They say they still don't have them? are they stalling or just not want to do warranty work because it pays less? the letter said it could cause an accident. I have had the letter for 2 1/2 months but was in florida for the winter and drove it very little there- hauled it back in a trailer- and still avoid driving it untill we get it fixed. What can I do?.

6 Power Train problem of the 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 07/05/2012

The vehicle at highway speeds from 45 to 55 miles per hour will lose complete power dropping from 45 or 55 to 10 or 15 mph very rapidly when this happens you have no control of acceleration or vehicle till it reaches the 10 to 15 mph range leaving you in a very dangerous position if you are not close enough to the shoulder of the road to pull off leaving you the possibility of being in a collision with faster approaching vehicles from the rear this is a serious problem that could result in death from a rear end collision and appears to be a common problem with this vehicle. Something needs to be done about this and the dealers have no explanation for this failure. This has been an on going problem from July of 2012 to the current date of 2/4/2013.

8 Power Train problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 08/08/2010

My ex-husband before giving my daughter the use of his 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara took it into marketplace Chrysler - Suzuki, inc in rochester, NY on 6/23/2010 to have the oil changed and for them to take care of any recalls on the car that had not been done yet. Well one they did was "sb shifter interlock" replaced per recall is stated on the receipt. Well on the night of August 8th 2010 around 10pm she was moving the Suzuki Grand Vitara in the driveway up closer to the house and the shifter moved out of park into drive without her having her foot on the brake. . . It was cooler out and the engine was running fast also. Well the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara went through the closed garage door. My garage door has been replaced and the damages to the Suzuki have been fixed all paid for by my ex-husbands geico auto policy. The day the car was picked up from being repaired we took it straight back to marketplace Chrysler-Suzuki and told them what had happened, they said that they would look at the vehicle but once a recall is done they can't redo it and have it covered under the recall that I would have to pay for it. They did evaluate the vehicle and stated on the repair invoice "customer states that the vehicle will come out of park when off or running" "tech found that the shift switch was failing. Removed and replaced with new. Test. " I was not charged for this.

9 Power Train problem of the 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Failure Date: 03/20/2009

On 3/20/2009 approximately 7:30 pacific time-my 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara experienced complete engine failure. This vehicle has had two complete breakdowns within two and 1/2 months. In the previous repair from the problem dated January 3rd 2009, [previous odi number 10258356], it was found that a two part gear which drives the cam broke resulting in bent valves on the left side of the engine, and thus replaced. (they could not determine why it broke) a significant number of other parts were replaced as well. The heads went to a machine shop for work to be done. On March 20th at approximately 7:30 p. M pacific time, I was driving home from dinner, and upon going up a short gradual hill, the vehicle made a 'rattling' sound like a chain slipping in a gear. The sound lasted approximately 2 seconds and the engine died in nearly the same moment as the sound. I turned off the key- I then turned key back to accessories to see which lights would stay on. The engine, oil and battery lights stayed on. I did not try to restart the vehicle. It has been towed to the dealer repair shop. (3/21/09) 38800 approx. Mileage at the time of the incident. This vehicle died three weeks to the day from the getting it back from the first repair.
