The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara. While driving in poorly illuminated areas at various speeds, the top to mid portion of the front windshield has limited visibility. The reduction of visibility increases the risk of serious injury or a crash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, but they could not identify the cause of the failure. The manufacturer stated that the failure was a common characteristic of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000 and current mileage was 12,000.

Received a safety recall notice from dealer. Have been trying for several months to schedule an appointment to change parts to no avail. I am worried for my safety and that of my family. The vehicle has been making funny noises and the accelerator seems fast. I hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you.

Consumer received NHTSA recall 03v223000 concerning fmvss 212 windshield mounting. Consumer contacted the dealer six months ago for recall repairs. However, dealer did not have the parts available.
I bought this vehicle from a Suzuki dealer on long island, 14 months after I bought a Suzuki 2003 aerio sx awd, from the same dealer. The aerio had loud humming in the rear of the car. Brought it back 3 times before they had a factory rep tell them that the rear differential was defective. They replaced it, and although the humming was gone, there was a terrible vibration whever I stepped on the gas. Brought it back 2 times before they said that the engine mounts were defective. They ordered the parts in early November, and said they were on backorder. This is a 2003 car !!! I went back to the dealer, and they made me a "great" deal. They sold me this 2003 xl7 with 11206 miles. As I drove the car home, I noticed a very severe wind noise coming from the lower left side of the windshield, and a whining type noise when first stepping on the gas. Again, this is a 2003 car. This was 12/22/03. I called the dealer and said that I would drop it off after christmas. I did, and they said a factory rep drove the car and said there was nothing wrong. How can Suzuki sell cars that seem to have these "normal problems" ? well I'm online and trying to find information about this car, and find out that the car was bought by the dealer at an auction in colorado. Then I go on your website and find the recall about the windshield problem. I am afraid to drive this car. Obviously this must be the air I feel rushing in at the bottom of the windshield. I can't believe this. I am bringing the car back to the dealer tomorrow. I am very afraid to drive it. The "great" deal with the xl7 now costs me more money every month and his "mistake" added another year onto my payments. Is there someone I can go to about this, even though it's been 3 weeks since it was purchased ? this is really not fair. Now I have to worry that my windshield will pop and I could be seriuosly injured or die if I'm in an accident ??? I think not. All because I bought Suzuki. Thanks, cindy baeyens.
I purchased a vehicle in Feb. 2002 from corporate motors dba Suzuki of hayward CA. Through addison avenue credit union held at hp corporate in palo alto, CA. On may 17th 2002 my new Suzuki xl7-4wd blew a head gasket @ 4,057 miles. It was towed to the san jose bob lewis Suzuki dealer. Would not provide a curtsey loaner and due to parts not in stock it took three weeks before I received my xl7 back. On may 15th 2003, I took it in for a maintenance inspection at sunnyvale foreign car service. At this time the mileage was 17,956. All went well, but was strongly recommended that I get all new tires soon, tires worn. On July 2nd the check engine soon light came on. I took it back to sunnyvale foreign car service, and they did a diagnostic check. The reading stated a problem with the engine coolant. The mechanic stated that the valve head will need to be replaced, and that I should take it back to the dealer since it is still under warranty. Monday July 7th 2003, took it to corporate motors dba Suzuki of hayward. . Read more...

Airbag - when it's below 40 degrees outside the airbag light stays on. Windshield - makes a howling noise when speed exceeds 80 mph. Passenger seatbelt - will not release when someone is sitting in the seat. Air condition - you have to constantly press the a/c switch and it will eventually activate. Air conditioner - the fresh air/recirculation lever does not stay on recirculate, it moves by itself back to fresh air. Front axle - the 4wd always pops back into 2wd all by itself. The axle leaks constanly. It's been replaced twice within 10000 miles.
