2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2008 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 10/21/2013

I was driving my 2008 Suzuki Reno on the road on my way to work when the car started to slow down despite me trying to give it gas, and the check engine light appeared. I pulled over and put the car in park and turned it off for a moment. I turned the car back on and the check engine light remained on. When trying to shift back into drive, my car jolted and an x appeared over the d where the gears are located. Frightened, I turned the car off again and called the dealership, who told me to bring it in. They explained it was the transmission range sensor is going to cost me $200 to replace it because the warranty wont cover it. I highly believe it should be cover or do a recall on it. I give thanks to god I wasn't injured or I injure some one else please take me to consideration. Thank you and god bless you.

3 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2007 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 07/01/2012

This is an on going occurrence since I have owned my vehicle, my engine light keeps coming on. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times and they keep telling me its just a sensor glitch and they have fixed it, along with my airbag light which is still on. A couple days after I leave the dealer, it comes back on and I lose power when I try to excelerate. This has happened to me a couple times when I am entering the interstate and I am getting sick of it. My original warranty has run out and I do not feel I should have to pay for them to fix a problem they still have not fixed although I have taken it to them when the warranty is in effect. Would this be covered under the power train warranty?? I see there are numerous complaints of the same problem. . How many reports do you need to determine if this a manufacturing glitch. I am getting very frustrated with this (I should have been a long time ago). What can I do about this without coming out of my pocket. At this point I dont think I would ever by another Suzuki and advise my friends against it.

4 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2007 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 05/09/2012

Car check engine light was on for a few days, then turned off. When I turned on the car, the check engine light was back on, put car in reverse and clunk, while the display where the r for reverse would have been was scrambled, car still reversed. Clunked into drive, and wouldn't switch out of 1st gear. This occurs sporadically. Check engine code signaled transmission range sensor malfunction. There are many other occurrences for the same model year which occurs around 70000 miles.

5 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2005 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 12/29/2011

I went to go get my car checked out at a local auto parts store. Turned on my car and when I was on drive it was showing something weird on it when I put it on different gears they would not go in order. Such as if it was in park it would show a d for drive or if it was in reverse it would show 3rd gear and so on. Whenever I would change gears it would kick really nasty and shake alot and I would have to push the gas just so I could move. The employee then used a check engine light device and I had an O2 sensor issue and a transmission range sensor issue.

My 2007 Suzuki Reno jerks when you put it into reverse and check engine light comes on, then when you put it into drive it goes really slow and sometimes I have to drive it in 3rd gear I've read around done some research and I've seen alot of people with the same problem.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2007 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

The check engine light is on all the time. My vehicle has been acting like it does not want to go into gear. While I am driving it, it will shift out of gear into neutral. When I shift gears it will make a loud "clunk" noise and occasionally jerk the car. The closest Suzuki dealership near me (since mine closed) is about 2 to 3 hours away. Im sure my vehicle will not make it to the dealership.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2008 Suzuki Reno

Failure Date: 07/03/2009

Driving down the road going 50 mphs the engine light comes on loses all power goes into lump home mode. Took it to the shop and replaced the throttle position sensor. 3 months later light comes back on take it back to the dealership and this time it is the same thing they did a transmission flush and replaced the sensor again. 3 months later the same thing happened again this time its the throttle pedal position sensor. It keeps doing the same thing every couple of months. Expensive fix everytime. I have the extended warranty and it doesn't help.
