My 2008 Xl7 has had many problems in the last couple of years. The sunroof has kept leaking into the cabin lights and into the driver's side ceiling requiring 2 visit to a body shop to fix the seal. My transmission control required replacing due to my car jerking between 2nd and 3rd gear. My driver's side window keeps coming off the track. My back doors no longer unlock except from the inside. My right passenger window no longer rolls down at all. Now my paint is peeling above both the driver and passenger windows. The paint looked bumpy and peeled off after a recent storm. Underneath is a white powder coating and it's rusted underneath as well.
I went to turn left this evening departing off of a sharp turn and the car without warning became almost impossible to steer. Meanwhile, another automobile came flying around the turn and barely missed hitting me. It took much arm muscle but I was able to get the car home. This is our only family car and I am not comfortable any longer driving it. Prior to this incident the readings on the dash began acting up and the remote start quit.

The speedometer on the car doesn't work correctly if at all when driving as well as the the fuel gauge. The car started it's dingy noise as if the key is always in the ignition (when off) or a door is ajar. It won't shut off when driving or when turned and it drains the battery. This car has had more problems and should've been recalled. The fuel pump was recalled but there are so many issues that have happened. Driving without the speedometer working of the fuel gauge working correctly should be addressed and the dealer is not able to fix the problem. Super frustrating! dealing with this issue now for over a year. Having to take it back to the dealership for the 3rd time.
The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki Xl7. While driving approximately 25 mph, the temperature gauge abnormally increased and the engine overheated. The contact maneuvered the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed smoke (no flames) under the hood. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
Well the sunroof has started to leak into the driver side and this is when it rains. I've been having this issue over a year now and same issues from Suzuki states they can't help me cause its not in warranty and I explained to them it's a known issue when I research it and I told them there is needing to be a recall and it's not good cause of the electronic it's going on in dash and through. They just said sorry. I am so fed up with this and lack of caring. I can see why they went bankrupt and I am hoping a recall can happen soon on a lot of theses issues and that are so clearly out there with more than mine. Please please please help me.
My Suzuki xl-7 paint has peeled off the back door and the top of the car a mechanic stated its a triple coat paint job because of the color which is pearl white. The is definitely a manufacture problem but they are pathetic. The paint is peeling so bad I'm scared to wash the vehicle because the paint may come off! then the electrical is worse I get in the door chime goes through the speakers at high volume. The stability control keeps cutting off and on and so does the check engine light.
My Suzuki Xl7 has the stability control light and all other electrical lights in the interior of the car go on and off, the warnings for the breaks and stability control they always come on after it rains. When the temperature is over , all the electrical components in the car go crazy and the car shuts off, after taking the car several times to the dealer the have no idea what can cause this issue, but now all the locks are not working when the temperature is high and the car is either locked or unlocked, and we have issues with our air bags too, sometimes the passenger light is off when someone is sitting on it.
When getting on the interstate, car suddenly lost speed but rpm's kept going up, could not go over 40, when pulled over, put in park but engine kept revving up.

One day when I go to start my car when I turn the key, a static noise comes from where the key goes. Vehicle started but while driving, would loose power and act like it is going to cut off.
When put gas in doesnt start has to hold gas pedal down. . Driving on hi way going 70mph on interstate 69. Had to come to abrupt stop truch shut off and would not start for few minutes in middle of hiway . This has happened twice so far. And sometimes when speading up it smells like something is burning. Theres other stuff but not too major as these are.
As I was driving the car, it came to a stop on its own . . I got out to see what was wrong, and I noticed that there was fire coming out of the back and the front of the car. As I ran away from the car I could see the fire dripping from the bottom .

All system warning lights are on. Not sure if there is a problem or not. The electrical stability control, check engine, abs, and etc.
There are multiple issues with my 2007 xl-7. Most recently it's been the smell of burning wires coming from either the steering column or under the dashboard which I will need to get inspected ASAP. I read one other complaint posted on 2/29/12 stating the same problem of smelling burning wires which ended in the vehicle being engulfed in flames and the family running for their lives. I've already had a so called tune-up from the local dealer about 1 1/2 years ago, but I now have issues starting the vehicle when I get gas. I have to pump the gas pedal multiple times in order to start the SUV and then it's a rough idle until I start driving. I get the oil change regularly, but was told on the last oil change that I needed a new oil pan gasket because oil was leaking from the pan. I also had my brakes checked 2 years ago and was told by the mechanic that I have uneven brake pads due to the front brake calipers engaging incorrectly or on one side of the rotors. In order to replace the calipers, get new brake pads and turn the rotors on the front, it would cost me $400+ per the mechanic which I felt was ridiculous. I've never heard of faulty brake calipers on a vehicle below 5 years of age as I bought my xl-7 new in 2007 and the brake inspection was between 2009 and 2010. My windshield wipers failed one year to the point where I now have a scratch on my windshield. I like the style of the xl-7 and its horse power and it' has not failed me on long road trips, but the recent issue and past issues are very troublesome. I'm very close to paying my SUV off and no longer have the warranty so I have some decisions to make on whether I should invest the money or get rid of it. A recall on the electrical system should be implemented when considering all the past complaints. By the way, the dealer I purchased my xl-7 from no longer exists.

This vehicle has the cabin air intake located about 7 inches from the exhaust manifold under the hood directly behind the engine. During any type of driving conditions the air being brought into the cabin through the cabin filter is filled with noxious fumes coming from a slight exhaust leak or just from the extreme temperatures under the vehicles hood. When driving the vehicle I can taste the sweet taste of vaporized antifreeze coming from the heat air conditioning vents. When driving I also experience many symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure headache, nausea, fatigue, sinus barotrauma ,ear ache, dizziness, confusion, altered mental state, memory loss, depression . The controls for the heat and air conditioning are impossible to adjust to a state of not allowing the air from entering the cabin of the vehicle. Driving this vehicle to visit a relative on may 11th 2013 myself and a friend were exposed to noxious fumes and possibly carbon monoxide at unknown levels for about 44 hours over a three day period of driving . On the return trip exposure levels to air coming into cabin must have been much worse. Driving over mountains on return trip caused external ear barotrauma and excruciating ear pain and about 90 percent hearing loss. On a subsequent trip June 14th 2013 driving the vehicle at highway speeds for less that 2 hours total made me feel sick again so much so that another person had to drive us home while I sat in the back seat with all of the windows open to get fresh air . After getting home I had to be taken to the hospital for symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure . The results from the visit to the emergency room possible exposure to carbon monoxide. Was informed to not operate this vehicle until servicing is done. I think if the cabin air intake had a longer hose under the hood to the front of the vehicle where the fresh air actually strikes the vehicle would help.

The fuse that goes to the fuel injectors keeps blowing, it only blows half of the fuse, every few weeks, the car won't start and the fuse has to be replaced.
2007 Suzuki xl-7 passenger air bag light staying on and clock flashing. Taken to dealership was told the sensor is under the passenger seat and it would cost $1,700. 00 to fix. But if I didn't fix it would be ok the air bag would work.
The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki Xl7. The contact stated that if there was a power failure while in the vehicle, he noticed that one would be unable to exit the vehicle. The unlock/lock button was electronically controlled. He had to have someone get a second key to unlock the doors so he could get out of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The current and failure mileages were approximately 18,000.
: the contact stated after an accident, water began to leak on the passenger side floorboard from under the dash. The dealership determined the water leak was not a problem. The water leak caused the circuit board to short and the heater, defrost, and air conditioner are now inoperable.
Brakes locking up when coming to a stop &. Making popping noises when taking off. Driver side window will some times not go up. At very rare occasions bright lightt will not come on during the night, vehicle pulls to right, dome light comes on and turns off while door is open. . . Dealership stated they could not find anything wrong, both times when taken in. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Now2008. After warranty is no longer. Took vehicle to firestone. The mechanic stated rotors, brakes, caliper, bearings, shocks have all need to be replaced. Due to failure of parts and the amount of miles plus the year some of the parts should not be in this shape. The repairs should have been done a long time ago. I never let my oil mechanic look at my vehicle in fear of losing my warranty but now this would have been taken care of if the dealership would have been honest with me now I have to find away to come up with $1600. 00 just to keep me safe while seeing patient's in there homes. . . I have ran off in a ditch due to brake failure. To stop me from hitting a car. Stop fast on dirt road to avoid hitting a deer and my brakes would not work until the pedal hit the firewall . This is not right and the Suzuki company should have to look into the problem and make repairs. . As for me I drive slower then the speed limit and stay away from other cars as much as possible. . . I do not care if I receive any help in this matter. . . But someone needs to know there is a problem with the entire brake system starting with the shocks all the way to the bearings.
