During driving, Tesla car spontaneously stated multiple active safety features and regenerative braking were no longer available and stopped working during driving with multiple warnings appearing. Driver safety at risk during this as well as others safety due to the lack of functioning. The car was taken to Tesla service center and was explained that front lower lateral suspension links were damaged by "impact" although the car was never in an impact or accident preventing proper alignment and functioning of the car. The part has been since repaired and currently undergoing further investigation for warranty dispute.

Front suspension creaking & rattling going over bumps Tesla took days & days & never called me w/ problem I kept calling in!! finally decide it is a known recall problem w/ suspension bolts & sub frame! they told me they torqued them & would test drive for noise & I never heard from them! I had to call in. Suddenly I had a $4200 estimate for repairs including $322 1. 24 hours of diagnosis??? a known problem other 2018 Tesla’s have been recalled for ??? very suspicious?? how do I know they didn’t torque it too far & strip bolt themselves??.

Tesla has told me the ap4 computer has failed in my car which has resulted in them having to replace it. This issue impacts: emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep/centering, assisting with parking, automatic high beams and wipers, cruise control/ adaptive cruise control, vehicles built in gps to be stuck at one location every time, has made my touchscreen not automatically brighten or dim, my auto dimming mirrors be too dim in most driving conditions, constantly fail to install system improvements and safety updates, and because my vehicle keeps trying to do this, it has caused increased battery drain as well. This has increased the safety risk of my vehicle tremendously. . . Tesla has not seemed to publicly acknowledge the issue yet either.

The full self driving is very dangerous. I had several events that put me in danger. Like, going to the wrong lane. Going to the wrong way. Changing lanes that almost hit a car good thing I took over right away. It made the other car upset and honk at me.
1. Autosteer/lane assist failure, yes its available for inspection upon request with Tesla 2. Due to above failure met with a crash which led to severe medical issues 3. The car has been totalled and the car is not functional, waiting on Tesla to inspect and confirm 4. Police has filed a crash report but manufacturer, insurance yet to inspect the vehicle or component 5. Absolutely no warning lamps/messages prior to the failure.

Steering wheel locked up while driving, causing a collision in the highway.
Car intermittently gives me a "reduced power steering" error making it impossible to steer and had to stop in the fast lane on the freeway and reset the car just to get the error to to away I could have been killed and Tesla refuses to have a recall on my year and model and I must pay out of pocket for a new steering rack this is not fair that other models is covered for a recall but not a 2019 Model 3.

My wife and I recently purchased a new 2024 Model 3 Tesla with the autopilot and full self-driving feature. We chose this vehicle because my wife has a long daily commute and we wanted to make the drive easier for her. We test drove a similar model in early August. When we were testing the full self-driving feature, the car failed to safely exit the freeway three times in our short test drive, causing my wife to have to take over. Both times, the car seemed to become confused by traffic cones as it prepared to exit the freeway, causing it to either miss the exit or to change lanes rapidly and unexpectedly, nearly colliding with other vehicles. When we reported this to the employees at the Tesla dealership, we were told that the car needed a software update to address the issue. It is now a month later and we received our vehicle a couple of weeks ago. I have not heard of the release of any software update addressing the issue we experienced. Given that this is the exact feature that prompted us to purchase the car and our intention was to make things safer for my wife, not the other way around, I would very much like to find out when this will be addressed. There are many drivers who currently use the full self-driving feature and I am concerned that it is extremely unsafe.
Making a 90 degree right turn at an intersection traveling approximately 15 mph, my steering wheel suddenly got very stiff and unresponsive. This caused me to travel into the oncoming lane of traffic before wrestling the very stiff steering wheel back under control. This condition persisted for the rest of my drive home, accompanied by “steering assist reduced” and “lane assist keep unavailable” error messages. This incident luckily did not result in an accident but easily could have if it happened at the wrong moment.

Incident description: one week after purchasing our new Tesla Model 3 2024 , we encountered several error messages upon returning to our car after a brief stop: "app_w264 - lane departure avoidance feature unavailable," "gtw_w075 - steering assist reduced," and "ui_a020 - steering assist reduced. " with no cell signal available, we had to drive back slowly with hazard lights on. The steering was extremely tight, making it very difficult to maneuver. Tesla roadside assistance suggested towing the car and using an uber coupon, which was impractical due to our location in the outskirts of vancouver, canada, with no uber services, and our home in seattle, USA. We drove over 100 miles to the nearest service centre in vancouver, posing a significant safety risk on curvy freeway roads. The service centre confirmed that the wire supplying power to the steering was cut due to contact with the fan, and they repaired the issue. Conclusion: the steering failure of our Tesla Model 3 was a major safety concern. Driving with impaired steering could have led to a severe accident. The issue was due to a design flaw, with the wire contacting the fan. We request a thorough investigation to prevent future occurrences and consideration for the inconvenience and risk we faced. Component/system failure: the wire supplying power to the steering mechanism was severed due to contact with the vehicle's fan. Safety risk: the steering became extremely tight, making large turns nearly impossible and small turns very difficult. This posed a significant safety risk, especially while driving on curvy freeway roads. Inspection & problem confirmation: the problem was confirmed by the Tesla service centre in vancouver. They verified that the wire was cut due to contact with the fan. Errors: "app_w264 - lane departure avoidance feature unavailable" "gtw_w075 - steering assist reduced" "ui_a020 - steering assist reduced".
Constant lane change while driving has gotten out of control. A couple of instance the vehicle has changed lanes without manual manipulation. This is getting out of hand and has certainly put risks on my family while operating vehicle.
Autonomous driving problem April 3, 2024 -5:00pm-6:00pm driving from cornelia, GA to commerce, GA on us-441 south at 60 mph driving on the right lane with very lite traffic. 6 different times the fsd (full self driving) (supervised) 2021 Tesla Model 3 starts signaling left and changes lanes with no traffic or vehicles in front. The 5th time fsd (supervised) changed lane to the left was a near car accident because a car was speeding at 70-80 mph from the rear and the vehicle changed lanes in front of the speeding car nearly causing an accident. The autonomous cabin driver detection sensor does continuously give false positive warning messages to the driver to "pay attention to the road" when I am wearing my glasses, so I have to drive without my glasses.
Tesla autopilot drifted over two lanes and into the side of a semi-truck on the freeway. It was night time but with plenty of light, no rain, and clearly marked lines separating the lanes. Not only did autopilot fail, but the features to help avoid drifting out of a lane even when not using autopilot, also failed. Those features are supposed to auto-steer back into the lane and beep to alert the driver. None of this occurred. 1. Yes vehicle is available for inspection upon request 2. Could have easily led to extensive damage, injuries or fatalities. Everyone got lucky 3. Problem has not been reproduced by dealer, but I have video of the event 4. Vehicle has not been inspected by any 3rd parties.
1. ) steering wheel, yes. 2. ) I lost steering at 50 mph with my twp daughter in backseat. 3. ) car was towed back to Tesla (it eas there 3 days ago for 2 front upper control arms replacement) 4. ) car not inspected by anyone other than Tesla. 5. ) yes 2 warnings “steering assist reduced”and “lane departure disabled”.

This incident is the result of poor operation of safety warning and navigation systems in a Tesla Model 3 leading to an accident. I rented a Tesla Model 3 from hertz at seattle tacoma airport. At a traffic light I followed navigation directions making a left turn into southcenter mall in tukwila wa. This turn placed me in the direction of a Subaru which hit me in the driver side rear side. The Tesla safely warning visual and audible system did not activate as designed. I owned a similar Tesla Model 3 at the time and was very familiar with its operation. The navigation and collision warning systems in this rental vehicle did not in any way act or engage like my personal vehicle, and therefore I was placed in a dangerous situation causing an accident to occur. This was a low speed accident, as I was beginning to accelerate after the light turned green, with sufficient time for the systems to react and provide warning, which they did not. I was not cited in the accident. This may be a hertz maintenance issue or a Tesla issue I'm not sure. I am loading both the tukwila police report and hertz accident summary which contradict: please note the hertz report is correct in the Subaru hitting me and the damage on the left side.
I am writing to provide feedback on the recent mandated Tesla full self driving software update (recall). When I keep both hands on the steering wheel, I now get constant warnings. Specifically, even when I drive with both hands firmly on the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock and maintaining what I feel is adequate control, the system nags me with disruptive alerts. It tells me to apply pressure and flashes visuals that my hands are not properly positioned, despite both remaining clearly in contact with the wheel the whole time. I typically drive responsibly with proper grip, yet these frequent notifications are frustrating and stress-inducing. The sensors seem to be calibrated too sensitively if they are detecting grip issues when both my hands are correctly and securely holding the wheel. Prior to the mandated update, I didn't receive nearly as many warnings. The update was not helpful and makes driving more stressful and less safe if anything. I understand the goal is to enforce safe driving, but the current warnings are excessive even when drivers are maintaining proper hand positioning. Perhaps the regulations could be relaxed so alerts only activate when grip is legitimately inadequate, rather than routinely throughout normal driving. Please let me know if any further details on my experience with both hands on the wheel would be helpful. I would be happy to provide additional information to aid review of this system. Thank you for your consideration.
I had just finished supercharging my vehicle from 50% to 80% and when I entered the car to drive home two warnings showed up 1. Steering assist was reduced and it might be more difficult to drive; and 2. Lane departure avoidance warning was not working. I did a hard reset twice - (foot on the brake while pressing the two steering wheel 'wheels') and began driving the 10-15 minute home. After an incredibly scary and difficult drive down a circular driveway, and great difficulty turning the wheel to make a right turn in one try, I picked the straightest route to my home - stopping one more time to hard reset. Again nothing! luckily there was no traffic but I had to make 9 ninety degree turns to get there. I got home - taking 4 tries to maneuver the car into my driveway and garage. I left the car in the garage. Tesla service was closed for the weekend so I arranged for a tow on Monday. The next (Sunday) morning I did another reset and this time the steering assist worked, and I have to assume the lane departure avoidance was working as well because I only drove around the block and put it back in the garage. I understand other models of Tesla have been recalled for this very issue and I'm wondering why the Model 3 was not recalled as well since the software is the same is it not? I don't know if there was something wrong with the supercharger that created the problem.

Vehicle started displaying warning messages as I pulled out of garage - "steering assist reduced" and "lane departure avoidance features unavailable. " afterwards, I noticed vibration and clicking sensation while turning steering wheel and driving at low speeds. I performed a software reset but messages were still there. Then I performed controls, safety, power off procedure. Messages disappeared, but steering still felt jerky. This happened when the vehicle had approximately 2,300 miles on it. A few days later, when exiting the garage, steering wheel was initially locked. It then "popped" when I applied gentle pressure to turn the wheel and the warning messages returned. Steering felt stuttery afterwards. I scheduled service appointment with Tesla. They replaced steering rack. I have had no problems since. Currently at 3,700 miles.
I was driving on the garden state parkway in new jersey in the right hand lane. I was using basic auto pilot and needed to pass a pick up truck in front of me. I disabled auto pilot and went into the left lane. I re-engaged auto pilot and the vehicle took a hard right and hit the truck. I heard the audible chime once it made contact with the truck indicating that auto pilot disengaged. My car went back into the left lane and I took control. We moved to the shoulder and waited for state police to arrive. Luckily no one was injured. A police report was filed.
Power steering stopped working when the car starts up, cannot steer the wheel at all in pdnr. Basically cannot steer the car at all and it is not drivable.
I was driving and the power steering stopped functioning. The car had just over 1000 miles and both the lane departure avoidance and steering assistance cut out. Restarting the start would bring it back on temporarily but it would cut out again after a minute or two.
Turn signals shut off after three blinks with no lane change or steering wheel movement. Lane departure / assistance fails to function. Blind spot monitor / alert fails to function. Adaptive cruise control / braking fail to function. Problem first reported to Tesla on 7/6/2023. Telsa installed software update to resolve remotely. Problem recurred 8/6/2023, towed to Tesla 8/7, Tesla replaced side camera assembly. Problem recurred 8/132023, software update installed & resolved. Problem recurred 8/19/2023. Vehicle to be towed to Tesla for further diagnosis / repair.
The issues are all related to the feature called autopilot, all on a highway, traveling at highway speed while using autopilot. Sunny, dry, daytime 1. The car hard braked with no other vehicles or objects on roadway. I had to take back control quickly 2. The car hard braked when I was driving in the right lane and a car was in the entrance lane beside me, causing a near accident with the other vehicle which was trying merge onto lane, I had to quickly take back control to avoid a dangerous situation. 3. I was in left lane and turned on the turning indicator to move to the right lane, the car started to move lanes, then suddenly abandoned attempt, moving back to the original lane. There was no object in the target lane and there was a car behind me in the left lane wanting to pass, causing a dangerous situation. (this happened twice).
Full self drive fsd took car in opposite road direction, sudden lane changes, almost crash in upcoming traffic. Sudden stops in middle in road. Fsd autopilot very dangerous driving that could cost crash. I can’t trust fsd.
Car did not react to uncoming car and accident happened. Car was totaled. Recall no. 23v-838 involved as the car didn’t have the right safety controls and caused collision.
The issue is with autostart, enhanced auto pilot and lane departure warning. I paid for enhanced auto pilot. This car totally relies on cameras. 1. In the slightest occurrence of rain, it complains about one or more cameras malfunctioning or out of vision. This doesn't happen often in full self driving version. For early adopters of model3 fsd, manufacturer updated the cameras. However they did not do that for early enhanced autopilot customers. 2. For the same reason, on a 3 lane or more highway, on autopilot when one moves from speed most lane and if there is a truck on the slowest lane, the camera shows somehow that the truck is on the middle lane when it is not, and hence the software assumes an impending crash and pulls you back to the speed most lane, giving no time for anyone behind you to think anyone, and leaves yourself in a dumbfounded state. 3. Without the upgraded cameras, autopilot is prone to accidents. 4. Car tent to automatically brake when sun directly shines on the driver or there is a bridge in front of you while on autopilot. I believe this has something to do with the older version of cameras.
Front wiring harness corrodes causing steering control to corrode. This also affects lane keep, braking, and speed control. At least 6 warnings associated with the short circuit.
In vehicle speaker system occasionally resets, keeping speakers from making noise during a 5-10 second window. This keeps in-vehicle chimes and collision warnings from sounding at appropriate volumes.
The car was advertised at 312miles on the battery. It is 265. The charging takes 45 to hr and I was lied to about the mileage overage and the ability to purchase the car. This car isn't as advertised. I reached out to Tesla and they do t offer any solution. I was scammed. I want to return the car. The tires do t last as the cars are too heavy. If the tires don't last 1 yr that's a defect.
Pillar cameras constantly complain blocked or blinded. Services refused to even look into the issue blaming glare from the sun, even when happening to both on opposite sides of the car at the same time. Report it even happens at night I am told it might be too dark for the camera. Did not occur like this on my 2019 Tesla Model 3. This seems to be causing random unexpected lane departure alerts or failures in lane keeping on cruise control or with lane assist. Message are extremely frequent and distracting. Message placement is blocked by arm while holding the steering wheel requiring me to take my eyes off the road to read. Been complaining about this for months, one of the two cameras (drivers side) was replaced which improved the issues with that side complaining but passenger side complains extremely often. Drivers side issue not 100% resolved but improved after replacement, possible cabling or mcu/ecu issue. Instead of looking at the issue Tesla insists the cameras must be dirty, moisture, too bright, too dark, etc. And fails to even examine components. Recent appointment canceled by Tesla after the scheduled date and time without notice. Camera doesn't appear to detect or recognize people or objects in that cameras visions creating what appears to be a blind spot when viewing in vehicle display. Have repeatedly seen person walking around my car will disappear from the screen around the passenger front quarter but reappear when in front of the vehicle or by the rear quarter.
I have the issue recorded on video. The computer display totally froze for several minutes while driving on the highway. The turn signals would not work while the computer was frozen and the system needed to reboot after several minutes before the turn signals would start working again. I was in autopilot at the time of this happening. Video documentation can be provided. Here is a link to the video of the safety issue on google photos: https://photos. Google. Com/share/af1qipmuix6jr5ppoggqtcrlwxh1hiv7hlr2gm9g5wjjifyfkz4-lg7d-_nfazttalfx3q?key=anrjqwo3tgnim0f1cejoczzoz3rtrnrqmm1wofpb.
My brand new Tesla Model 3's adaptive cruise control is unsafe and unusable while driving on a two lane highway, I took a 500 mile road trip last night and the entire time I was experiencing random hard breaking while driving. I have stopped using it since but it has me worried about my safety as well as other when using this program. I am also having issues with my lane keep assist activating despite it being fully disabled in settings, it pulls my steering wheel back into the lane when I am changing lanes, even with a turn singal, and the computer system screams like crazy telling me im departing my lane. This almost caused me to crash one time as I had to overcome the computer pulling me back into the lane I was already in, despite me intending to change lanes.
Phantom breaking system continuously is stopping out of no where. Happens when vehicle is on autopilot and also happens when vehicle is on cruise control. It slams the brakes and lowers speed approximately 20 mph’s in a matter of a second. Seriously increasing the chance of being rear ended. It’s enough braking power to send you forward in your seat. On my current trip driving through nevada to idaho it happened approximately 5 times within 20 miles before I gave up and turned it off. I have also experienced problems before where the car merges lanes on the freeway but does not take into consideration the car in the lane that it’s merging into. Accident waiting to happen.
My friend was driving the vehicle (a 2019 Tesla Model 3) while it was engaged in full self-driving beta 10. 12. 2 mode. While fsd beta was engaged, the road transitioned from being single lane and one-way only to two lanes and with traffic travelling in both directions. As we travelled over an intersection, the Tesla ignored this change in its surroundings and proceeded to travel in the wrong lane, towards oncoming traffic. Its failure to read road markings could have seriously endangered the driver and other road users. A link to the clip of the incident can be found below: https://vimeo. Com/733967979/01bc3c3795.
My friend was driving the vehicle (a 2019 Tesla Model 3) while it was engaged in full self-driving beta 10. 12. 2 mode. While fsd was engaged, the driver approached a road closure sign due to road works occurring. Ignoring these well-marked signs, which clearly said 'road closed', the Tesla proceeded past these signs until the driver had to perform a stop to prevent the vehicle from colliding with the road works. A link to the clip of the incident can be found below: https://vimeo. Com/733970645/9ef2ad21d2.
