The contact owns a 2016 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph when the vehicle's front passenger door suddenly unlocked and opened. The contact attempted to close the door, however, the door failed to latch. The contact stated they had to return home holding the door as they were driving. The vehicle's door now fails to lock. The contact did not contact the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated they would be able to send a mechanic to fix the door within a month. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
