The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph the power steering locked and the contact had difficulty steering the vehicle as she entered the parking lot. The contact stopped the vehicle, then restarted it and drove home safely. There was steering assist no longer warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Tesla Model X. The contact stated while exiting the driveway and attempting to make a turn, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and the steering wheel would continually go from difficult to maneuver to loose while driving. The dealer was not made aware of the failure.
