1 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2015 Toyota 4Runner

Failure Date: 12/15/2016

The front driver seat plastic skirting clips broke causing the seat skirting to twist upward against the drivers leg. Seems like a design flaw where the power seat will move more than the plastic clips can handle resulting in wear then broken clips. Toyota of san luis obispo, CA replaced the skirting while the vehicle while was under warranty. One month later the clips broke again. Toyota of san luis obispo, CA told me there was no fix for this and it would just continue to happen and a second replacement would not be approved.

2 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2013 Toyota 4Runner

Failure Date: 04/12/2013

My car was rear ended while I was stopped at a yield sign waiting to merge onto a parkway. The small car that hit me was probably traveling at approximately 30 mph. The collision caused my driver's seat to move forward and it stopped just before I hit the steering wheel. Toyota inspected the seat on may 8, 2013 and their legal department advised me by letter dated June 13, 2013 that there was no evidence to reveal a manufacturing or design defect with the seat. Toyota said that they would not "honor" the claim for repair/replacement of the power seat mechanism because it "moved through its entire range of motion" upon inspection.

3 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2006 Toyota 4Runner

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

The driver seat on my 2006 Toyota 4runner sport 4x4 is loose and getting looser by the day. I did some research online and other 4runner owners are similar issues. The issue is so bad that Toyota put out a TSB for the issue. The TSB is only for manual seats though and I have power seats. I do not feel safe in a vehicle when the driver seat moves, I think that is rather self explanatory. I would hate to get into and accident and have my seat dislodge from the track resulting in injuries that could have been avoided if the seat was properly secured. I am only asking that Toyota extend the TSB to power seats so that I can feel safe in my vehicle.

4 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Failure Date: 11/10/2004

The driver's seat pops and moves when braking or turning curves (especially when making right turns). It appears to be coming from the bottom of the seat and around the front "thigh" portion of the seat.

5 Front Seat Power Adjust problem of the 1999 Toyota 4Runner

Failure Date: 08/09/2004

Related most of the vehicle which had power seats on the passenger site. Last evening, I laid my cell phone and wallet on the passeger seat befor I started the engine, while I was backing out from the parking lot, I made a small turn, this movement caused my cell phone and wallet slided down toward the right side ended under the right seat. So I stoped the car and bended over the right side to get them out with my right hand, since they were under the seat, I was not able to even reach them. Then I used my left hand, tried reach them from under the seat. Gues what happened? since my right hand still on the right site of the seat, it accidently pushed the seat move forward button, the seat was moving forward while my left hand still under the seat. Because there is a matel object was under, it hurt my left hand badly, luckily I realized I was pushing the botton, I released it on time, so there's no serious injure. Had I not release my right hand on time, I would have got a real serious injury. So please start some of your investigation. If possible make a recall recommendation to those vehicle will cause the same safty thread. Thanks. Yan fang cao.
