Two problems related to structure have been reported for the 1996 Toyota Camry. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
All four interior door handles have failed making it impossible to exit the car without rolling down the windows. This is potentially dangerous in case of emergency. The left rear was first to fail at ~100k miles, the driver handle failed last at 139k miles. The local dealer offered a 10% discount on the repair, Toyota of America customer satisfaction would offer anything better.
The vehicle experienced stalling/starting problems, which was caused by the egr valve, the fuel pressure regulator and the idle speed control valve, which were all replaced, the tires experienced uneven tire wear, the brakes failed, there were transmission, driveline and steering problems, the o-ring was replaced, and also the vehicle began to exhibit engine oil sludge.
