Two problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 1999 Toyota Camry. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at a steady speed, the car (which is an automatic) went out of gear and slipped into neutral. As soon as I realized what had happened I jiggled the shifter (it was in d2) and the gear seemed to re-engage and I continued driving without any problem. This has happened a half dozen times.
Transmission slipped and unexpectedly engaged causing car to lurch forward. Yh.
