The srs light has blinked for 5 years. It may blink for a day or two and then not blink for a week. Now it has been blinking everyday for 2 weeks. A diagnostic check was made and I was told that the passenger air bag tried to open but did not. I bought this car used and after about a month the srs light began to blink.

5 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

Passenger side seat belt does not retract. . . The seatbelt light stays on whether or not someone is sitting in the seat. I had the light diagnosed for $91 but they said that there was actually a problem with the airbag system. Regardless, the seatbelt still does not retract.

6 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

Passenger side front seatbelt won't retract again after a 2nd seatbelt was installed.

7 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2009

The seat belt latch release on my 2002 Toyota Camry fails to "pop out" after un-fastening (releasing) the seat belt. This could lead to an un-safe condition since it could appear that the seat belt was latched when it was not. I was told be the dealer that it would cost $140. To repair this condition. I said that I thought this was a safety matter and should be repaired at no cost. I understand that some other car manufacturers warrant seat belts for the life of the car and make such safety repairs at no charge. Why does Toyota charge for repair of such safety devices? thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your reply.

8 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2008

The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the driver's side seat belt tensioner does not retract. The failure began approximately 6-8 months ago. The dealer stated that it would cost $400 to replace the tensioner. No repairs have been made. The VIN and mileages were unknown.

9 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2008

This complaint is the same with case #10243192 - driver side seat belt and back seat belt,do not retract sometimes. Im the original owner and the mileage is close to 95000.

10 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2008

On my 2002 Toyota solara convertible the front seat belts do not retract. I was told by a Toyota service manager that the seat belt retractor springs have weakened and need to be replaced. I called the Toyota customer experience center and they say because the car is no longer under warranty that I am responsible for getting the problem fixed. I do not believe that something as important as seat belts should brake on a car. I have owned many cars and this is the first time that I have seen this problem. The car has 94,000 miles on it and was a one owner car when I bought it 2 weeks ago. The msrp for the parts are over $200 for each seat belt. I think this is a design flaw and a safety hazard on these cars.

11 Seat Belt problem
